Due to limitations of 0.618 pole method, the triangle method and the champ ground resistance tester method on grounding resistance measurement of transmission lines and towers under conditions of complex landscape in a mountainous area, it adopts a generalized three-electrode grounding resistance measurement method which arranges electrode flexibly in the grounding resistance measurement of tra...

The transmission line pulse method (TLP) is used to characterise the reliability of bolometric GaAs microwave power-sensors. Two degradation mechanisms are identified during the degradation process of the absorbing NiCr termination, in which the input power is converted into heat. Simulations and a material analysis have been performed in order to characterise the observed degradation mechanisms.

In this paper tools for the analysis of Dirac structures on Hilbert spaces are developed. Some properties are pointed out and two natural representations of Dirac structures on Hilbert spaces are presented. The theory is illustrated on the example of the ideal transmission line. keywords: Power conserving structures, Dirac structures, Representations. AMS-Classification: 93C25, 93A30, 93B10, 70...

This paper presents the overview of studies on the abnormal oscillations which have been occurred in the power transmission systems in Japan. It also focuses on the recent studies of the dynamics of the subharmonic oscillation of order 113 in a nonlinear three-phase circuit which is the fundamental model of the series-compensated transmission line.

Network modeling of complex physical systems leads to a class of nonlinear systems called port-Hamiltonian systems, which are defined with respect to a Dirac structure (a geometric structure which formalizes the power-conserving interconnection structure of the system). A power conserving interconnection of Dirac structures is again a Dirac structure. In this paper we study interconnection prop...

Considering generator rotor and valve by external disturbances for turbine regulating system, the nonlinear large disturbance attenuation controller and parameter updating law of turbine speed governor system are designed using backstepping method. The controller not only considers transmission line parameter uncertainty, and has attenuated the influences of large external disturbances on syste...

A modified two-element Yagi-Uda antenna with tunable beams in the H-plane (including four significant beams: forward, backward, omni-directional, and bi-directional beams) is presented. These tunable beams are achieved by simply adjusting the short-circuit position of the transmission line connected to the parasitic element. The principle of operation is investigated by examining the current re...

This study presents the application of LabView in real time monitoring and control of transmission line. National Instrument Compact Reconfigurable i/o (cRIO) devices interfaced with computer can act as SCADA in the system. The cRIO can perform acquisition of voltage and current data with input modules and at the same time can transmit, process and display data and as well as retrieve historica...

When power systems are expanded and connected together with weak tie lines, the low-frequency oscillations are increased and the stability margin of the power system decreases. Therefore, when designing the transmission system to be used, it is necessary to maintain the dynamic stability of the power system, and to make sure to have the most possible stability margin. SSSC is a FACTS device con...

This paper presents a new approach for the modelling of a screw shaft including the axial and torsional dynamics in the same model. The model includes the distributed parameter dynamics of the ball screw system and the effect of mass distribution. This is based on the flexibility of the Transmission Line Matrix Method (TLM) to develop lumped and distributed parameter systems. The procedure for ...
