ovarian mixed germ cell tumors consisting of endodermal sinus tumor and immature teratoma are very rare and have been reported only in a few case reports. here we report a rare mixed germ cell tumor of ovary which was consisted of endodermal sinus tumor and immature teratoma components with an unusual intraabdominal location. patient was a 21 years old girl with the chief compliant of abdominal...

in this work‎, ‎we formulate chatterjea contractions using graphs in metric spaces endowed with a graph ‎‎and‏ ‎‎‎‎investigate ‎the ‎existence‎ ‎of ‎fixed ‎points ‎for such mappings ‎under two different hypotheses‎. we also discuss the uniqueness of the fixed point. the given result is a generalization of chatterjea's fixed point theorem from metric spaces to metric spaces endowed with a graph.

A novel optical temporal log-slope difference mapping approach is proposed for cancerous breast tumor detection. In this method, target tissues are illuminated by near-infrared (700-1000 nm) ultrashort laser pulses from various surface source points, and backscattered time-resolved light signals are collected at the same surface points. By analyzing the log-slopes of decaying signals over all p...

Clinical importance The ability to visualize brain activity and to determine which parts of the brain are responsible for which cognitive processes has revolutionized the neurosciences [1–3]. The use of blood oxygen leveldependent (BOLD), functional MRI (fMRI) in the clinical setting benefits patients insomuch as it allows neurosurgeons to be aware of and to navigate the precise location of pat...

INVESTIGATION OF SPATIO-TEMPORAL EFFECTS OF FMRI VISUAL FIELD MAPPING TECHNIQUES ON V1 John Janik Marquette University, 2011 Blood oxygenation level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging has been used extensively for mapping the representation of the visual field within the human brain. Visual field mapping using fMRI has been used clinically to assess patients with cortical pathology...

Personalized cancer medicine based on the analysis of tumors en masse is limited by tumor heterogeneity, which has become a major obstacle to effective cancer treatment. Cancer stem cells (CSC) are emerging as key drivers of inter- and intratumoral heterogeneity. CSC have unique metabolic dependencies that are required not only for specific bioenergetic/biosynthetic demands but also for sustain...

OBJECT The authors developed a new mapping technique to overcome the temporal and spatial limitations of classic subcortical mapping of the corticospinal tract (CST). The feasibility and safety of continuous (0.4-2 Hz) and dynamic (at the site of and synchronized with tissue resection) subcortical motor mapping was evaluated. METHODS The authors prospectively studied 69 patients who underwent...

brown tumors may occur secondary to hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic renal failure (ckd). they are increasingly rare because hyperparathyroidism in now diagnosed and treated at an early stage. we report 67-year-old man who had been on hemodialysis for crf for over 3 years, who presented with back pain over the thoracolumbar junction from 2 years ago and because of pain he could not ...

background: invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common type of breast cancer in iran. impaired immune responses occur frequently in cancer patients, but the mechanisms of the induced immune defects remain poorly understood. it is believed that infiltrated immune cells, especially macrophages, may provide help for tumor cell growth and metastasis.   objective: to analyze the status of tumor as...
