anosmia following head trauma is relatively common and in many cases is persistent and irreversible. the ability to objectively measure such a decline in smelling, for both clinical and medicolegal goals, is very important. the aim of this study was to find results of brain single photon emission computed tomography (spect) in anosmic subjects after closed head trauma. this case-control cross s...

We calculate the emission rate and spectrum for radiation of neutral electroweak bosons (Z”) f rom an electron in a weak external homogeneous electromagnetic field satisfying 1 f Fcly Fp”/1/2 < Fc 3 mzc3/eti. The calculational method is based on the source theory formulation of quantum field theory introduced by Schwinger. In particular for ultra-relativistic electrons, we find that the 2’ emis...

BackgroundTraditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used to prevent and treat type 2 diabetes (T2DM) for thousands of years. The holistic view TCM the “multitarget” characteristics have unique advantages in prevention treatment T2DM. syndrome differentiation are effective T2DM; however, currently, therapeutic effect is generally evaluated by asking patients' subjective feelings, or checking c...

cavity quantum electrodynamics describes the behaviour of a quantum emitter inside an optical cavity, and is one of the few realizable experimental systems in which the coherent interaction between the emitter and the cavity mode can exceed dissipative and dephasing processes. Recent advances in this field include the observation of vacuum Rabi splitting1–3, interference4, upconversion5 and the...

We describe the impact of the full one-loop Electro-Weak terms of O(α S α 3 EM) entering the electron-positron into three-jet cross-section. We include both factorisable and non-factorisable virtual corrections, photon bremsstrahlung but not the real emission of W ± and Z bosons. We show preliminary results and we discuss the impact of the Electro-Weak corrections on three-jet observables.

A deep insight into the fundamental physical processes in diamond irradiated with intense, ultrashort laser pulses is of paramount importance to optimize fabrication sensors and dosimeters.A review present state art experimental theoretical studies on this topic presented by T. Apostolova et. al. The work also gives a comprehensive picture technology used for innovative devices. Due its large b...

Efficient coupling between a localized quantum emitter and a well defined optical channel represents a powerful route to realize single-photon sources and spin-photon interfaces. The tailored fiber-like photonic nanowire embedding a single quantum dot has recently demonstrated an appealing potential. However, the device requires a delicate, sharp needle-like taper with performance sensitive to ...

We show a setup for characterising the efficiency of a single-photon-detector absolutely and with a precision better than 1%. Since the setup does not rely on calibrated devices and can be implemented with standard-optic components, it can be realised in any laboratory. Our approach is based on an Erbium-Doped-Fiber-Amplifier (EDFA) radiometer as a primary measurement standard for optical power...

Spontaneous four-wave mixing can generate highly correlated photon pairs from atomic vapors. We show that multi-photon pumping of dipole-forbidden transitions in a recoil-free geometry can result in ultra-bright pair-emission in the full 4π solid angle, while strongly suppresses background Rayleigh scattering and associated atomic heating, Such a system can produce photon pairs at rates of ∼ 10...

Stimulated emission is the process fundamental to laser operation, thereby producing coherent photon output. Despite negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy (NV-) centres being discussed as a potential laser medium since the 1980s, there have been no definitive observations of stimulated emission from ensembles of NV- to date. Here we show both theoretical and experimental evidence for stimulated e...
