In this paper, we propose some modified projection methods for general variational inequalities. The convergence of these methods requires the monotonicity of the underlying mapping. Preliminary computational experience is also reported.

We prove a parametric version of a smooth convex variational principle with constraints using a Baire category approach. We examine in depth the necessity of the assumptions of our variational principle by providing counterexamples.

A variational principle which (1) accommodates a deforming signal without an explicit model, and (2) provides a confidence measure for its result, is suggested for signal flow calculations.
