A realistic hyperon (Y )-nucleon (N) interaction based on the quark model and the oneboson-exchange potential is constructed. The Nijmegen potential model D with the SU(3) flavor symmetry is modified with a quark exchange interaction at the short-distance, which replaces the short-range repulsive core in the original model. The flavor-spin dependences of the short-range repulsion are qualitativ...

We study the modification of the multiplicity distributions in MLLA due to the presence of a QCD medium. The medium is introduced though a multiplicative constant (fmed) in the soft infrared parts of the kernels of QCD evolution equations. Using the asymptotic ansatz for quark and gluons mean multiplicities 〈nG〉 = e γy and 〈nQ〉 = r e respectively, we study two cases: fixed γ as previously consi...

We considered the quark-meson coupling model for a nucleon. The model describes a nucleon as an MIT bag, in which quarks are coupled to the scalar and the vector mesons. A set of coupled equations for the quark and the meson fields are obtained and are solved in a self-consistent manner. We show that the mass of a dressed MIT bag interacting with σand ω-meson fields differs considerably from th...

We study transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) with non-local operators in lattice QCD, using MILC/LHPC lattices. We discuss the basic concepts of the method, including renormalization of the gauge link. Results obtained with a simplified operator geometry show visible dipole deformations of spin-dependent quark momentum densities.

The method of calculation of effective vertices of interaction of the Reggeized gluon and quark with particles in QCD in the next-to-leading order is developed. The method is demonstrated in the case of already known vertices of both gluon-gluon and quark-quark transitions in the scattering of gluons and quarks on the Reggeized gluon. It is used for the calculation of the gluon-quark transition...

In this talk, a supersymmetric (SUSY) composite model of color superconductivity is discussed. In this model, quark and diquark supermultiplets are dynamically generated as massless composites by a newly introduced confining gauge dynamics. It is analytically shown that the scalar component of diquark supermultiplets develops vacuum expectation value (VEV) at a certain critical chemical potenti...

Single-lepton plus jets signals from t ¯ t production at hadron colliders generally give more spherically symmetrical events than the principal backgrounds from W production. We show that sphericity and aplanarity criteria, applied to lepton plus neutrino plus four jet final states at the Fermilab Tevatron p¯ p collider, help to discriminate; they can be used either to validate an eventual top ...

Partial conservation of the nine axial currents Aμ for β = 0, 1, ..., 8 applied to the vacuum expectation values of the equal-time commutators of the nine axial charges QA(x0) for α = 0, 1, ..., 8 with the corresponding axial current divergences ∂Aμ implies that the non-vanishing current quark masses mu, md, ms of the light quarks u, d, s have the same sign. Under the more realistic assumption ...

An extension of a model of neutrino masses to the quark sector provides an interesting link between these two sectors. A parameter which is important to describe neutrino oscillations and masses is found to be a crucial one appearing in various “penguin” operators, in particular the so-called Z penguin. This parameter is severely constrained by the rare decay processKL → μ+μ−. This in turn has ...

Protecting children from injuries caused by fall accidents from playground equipment is important. Therefore, measures toward minimizing the risk of fall accident injuries are required. The risk of injury can be evaluated using ASTM F1292. In this test, G-max and the HIC are used to estimate the risk of injury. However, the measurement procedure is too complicated for application to a large num...
