Deforestation in Myanmar has recently attracted much attention worldwide. This study examined spatio-temporal patterns of deforestation and forest carbon flux in Myanmar from 2001 to 2010 and environmental impacts at the regional scale using land products of the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). The results suggest that the total deforestation area in Myanmar was 21,178.8 k...

3GPP LWIP Release 13 technology and its prestandard version Wi-Fi Boost have recently emerged as an efficient LTE and Wi-Fi integration at the IP layer, allowing uplink on LTE and downlink on Wi-Fi. This solves all the contention problems of Wi-Fi and allows an optimum usage of the unlicensed band for downlink. In this paper, we present a new feature of Wi-Fi Boost, its radio link management, w...

We propose an extensive-form game as a model for pricing roaming charges in 802.11 wireless data networks. We specify utility functions for the three agents involved in the game: the wireless user and the visited and home operators. With realistic assumptions, we use the model to find optimal roaming prices for delay insensitive users.

Wi-Fi based gait recognition has many potential applications. However, the information derived from changes with walking path. This makes human identification through really challenging, existing systems require subject along a predetermined path dependence restriction impedes being widely used. In this paper, independent system for single subject, Wi-PIGR, is proposed. identified regardless of...

This paper studies the use of wireless Ethernet (Wi-Fi) as a localization sensor for mobile robots. Wi-Fi-based localization relies on the existence of one or more Wi-Fi devices in the environment to act as beacons, and uses signal strength information from those beacons to localize the robot. Through the experiments described in this paper, we explore the general properties of Wi-Fi in indoor ...
