Following a strategy introduced earlier by the authors, we show that it is possible to extract |Vub| from the cut hadronic mass spectrum of B decays without large systematic errors which usually arise from having to model the Fermi motion of the heavy quark. We present a closed form expression for |Vub|/|Vts| which is accurate up to corrections of order α 2 s, αsρ, (Λ/mb) 2/ρ, where ρ is the ex...

The linear and the non-linear behaviors of ion temperature gradient (ITG) mode in a plasma with regularized κ-distributed electrons are investigated using fluid model. dispersion relation ITG obtained on basis local approximation shows that growth rate decreases increase spectral index κ exponential cut-off parameter α. It indicates presence superthermal electron leads to destabilization mode, ...

In game-tree search, a point value is customarily used to measure position evaluation. If the uncertainty about the value is to be reflected in the evaluation, which is described with probabilistic distribution or probabilities, the search process must back up distributions from leaf nodes to the root. It is shown that even though the merit value of a node is described by probabilities, α-β bou...

In this letter we report on the discovery of a z=2.83 Lyman-α Blob (LAB) found in our wide field narrow-band survey within the Spitzer First Look Survey region. The blob is extended over at least 95kpc and has a total Lyman-α luminosity of 2.1×10 erg s. It is only the sixth LAB known of this scale (> 50 kpc), and is associated with an embedded continuum source in g’, R, i’, K & 4.5 μm bands. Th...

We present new tools for fuzzy arithmetic with fuzzy numbers, based on the parametric representation of fuzzy numbers and new fuzzy operations, the generalized difference and the generalized division of fuzzy numbers. The new operations are described in terms of the parametric LR and LU representations of fuzzy numbers and the corresponding algorithms are described. An application to the soluti...

Patients with IgE antibodies against the carbohydrate epitope galactose-α-1,3-galactose (α-Gal) have reported severe allergic reactions after consumption of red meat. Investigations have revealed associations between IgE to α-Gal and tick bites. We provide the first direct evidence that α-Gal is present within ticks thus potentially explaining the relationship between tick exposure and sensitiz...

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) as introduced by Charnes et al [3] is a linear programming technique that has widely been used to evaluate the relative efficiency of a set of homogenous decision making units (DMUs). In many real applications, the input-output variables cannot be precisely measured. This is particularly important in assessing efficiency of DMUs using DEA, since the efficiency sc...

The anti-homomorphic image of fuzzy ideals, fuzzy ideals of near-rings and anti ideals are discussed in this note. A necessary and sufficient condition has been established for near-ring anti ideal to be characteristic. Keywords—Fuzzy Ideals, Anti fuzzy subgroup, Anti fuzzy ideals, Anti homomorphism, Lower α level cut.

BACKGROUND This systematic review examined the reliability and validity of the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8), which has been widely used to assess patient medication adherence in clinical research and medical practice. METHODS Of 418 studies identified through searching 4 electronic databases, we finally analyzed 28 studies meeting the selection criteria of this study regardin...

We study the finite-size effects in some scaling systems, and show that the finite number of agents N leads to a cut-off in the upper value of the Pareto law for the relative individual wealth. The exponent α of the Pareto law obtained in stochastic multiplicative market models is crucially affected by the fact that N is always finite in real systems. We show that any finite value of N leads to...
