AgreementMakerLight (AML) is an automated ontology matching framework based on element-level matching and the use of external resources as background knowledge. This paper describes the configuration of AML for the OAEI 2014 competition and discusses its results. Our goal this year was broadening the scope of AML by delving into aspects such as translation and structural matching, while reinfor...

In the present study a new economic and rapid bacterial micro-assay for simultaneous detection and quantitative measurement of serum galactose was developed. Analysis of the standard curve showed a linearity range for galactose from 2 mg/dL to 180 mg/dL with a regression equation of Y = 0.013X ? 0.083; R² = 0.962. The advantage of the method is its ability to measure serum galactose quantitativ...

This paper presents an algorithm to generate a smooth surface between two closed spatial spline curves. With the assumption that the two input curves can be projected to a single plane so that the projections do not have any mutual or self intersections, and so that one projection completely encloses the other. We describe an algorithm that generates a temporal deformation between the input cur...

This paper presents an evaluation of the map-matching scheme of an integrated GPS/INS system in urban areas. Data fusion using a Kalman filter and map matching are effective approaches to improve the performance of navigation system applications based on GPS/MEMS IMUs. The study considers the curve-to-curve matching algorithm after Kalman filtering to correct mismatch and eliminate redundancy. ...

The present study introduces a novel curve-fitting algorithm for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) curves using a self-constructed, wedge-shaped beam type angular interrogation SPR spectroscopy technique. Previous fitting approaches such as asymmetric and polynomial equations are still unsatisfactory for analyzing full SPR curves and their use is limited to determining the resonance angle. In the...

An invariant representation based on so-called similarity-invariant coordinate system (SICS) is presented for matching 3D space curves under the group of similarity transformations. In the SICS, the 3D geometry of a curve segment is unique. Thus, constraints on the curve can be fully explored for the matching. Experimental results with simulated data are presented.

PURPOSE To assess the diagnostic validity of a fully automated image analysis algorithm of in vivo confocal microscopy images in quantifying corneal subbasal nerves to diagnose diabetic neuropathy. METHODS One hundred eighty-six patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T1/T2DM) and 55 age-matched controls underwent assessment of neuropathy and bilateral in vivo corneal confocal micr...

BACKGROUND Psychoacoustic measures of tinnitus typically include loudness and pitch match, minimum masking level (MML), and residual inhibition (RI). We previously developed and documented a computer-automated tinnitus evaluation system (TES) capable of subject-guided loudness and pitch matching. The TES was further developed to conduct computer-aided, subject-guided testing for noise-band matc...
