With the growth of broadband networks, Video-on-Demand (VoD) has become realistic. Many significant broadcasting schemes have been proposed to reduce the bandwidth requirements for stored popular videos, but they cannot be used to support live video broadcast perfectly. Herein, we propose a new broadcasting scheme, called the Adaptive Live Broadcasting (ALB) scheme, which supports live video br...

As broadcasting environments change rapidly to digital, user requirements for next-generation services that surpass the current HDTV service quality become more demanding. The next-generation of broadcasting services will change from HD to UHD and from 5.1 channel audio to more than 10 audio channels, including a height channel for a high quality realistic broadcasting service. In accordance wi...

The wireless sensor network (WSN) has attracted lots of attention recently. Broadcast is a fundamental operation for all kinds of networks and it has not been addressed seriously in the WSN. Therefore, we propose two types of power and time efficient broadcasting protocols, namely one-to-all and all-to-all broadcasting protocols, for five different WSN topologies. Our one-to-all broadcasting pr...

In this paper, we propose a new broadcasting scheme, called P2P broadcasting, for eliminating the service latency time of the existing broadcasting schemes. Our broadcasting scheme is based on the simplest staggered broadcasting protocol and then we use peer to peer caching technique, in which a number of clients that share a segment of a stream delivered from the same channel forms a group. Ea...

Technological advances have made building complicated large-scale multicomputer networks possible. The binary hypercube [7] is undoubtedly one of the most popular interconnection networks for parallel processing. Another candidate is the star graph [1], which has been recognized as an attractive alternative to the hypercube. A large number of researches have studied the star graph, focusing on ...

We prove a generalized version of the no-broadcasting theorem, applicable to essentially any nonclassical finite-dimensional probabilistic model satisfying a no-signaling criterion, including ones with "superquantum" correlations. A strengthened version of the quantum no-broadcasting theorem follows, and its proof is significantly simpler than existing proofs of the no-broadcasting theorem.
