Few studies have focused on estimating the relative effects of risk factors on IT project performance This paper discusses three predictive modeling techniques, regression, neural networks and classification trees, that could be used for such an estimate. A comparison suggests that classification tree techniques may provide more effective estimates than other techniques. A data set (n=227) with...

Decision tree classification algorithms have significant potential for remote sensing data classification. This paper advances to adopt decision tree technologies to classify remote sensing images. First, this paper discussed the algorithms structure and the algorithms theory of decision tree. Second, C4.5 basic theory and boosting technology are explained. The decision tree technologies have s...

Using satellite imagery for the study of Earth's resources is attended by manyresearchers. In fact, the various phenomena have different spectral response inelectromagnetic radiation. One major application of satellite data is the classification ofland cover. In recent years, a number of classification algorithms have been developed forclassification of remote sensing data. One of the most nota...

Building a classification model from thousands of available predictor variables with a relatively small sample size presents challenges for most traditional classification algorithms. When the number of samples is much smaller than the number of predictors, there can be a multiplicity of good classification models. An ensemble classifier combines multiple single classifiers to improve classific...

We present a classification scheme based on conditions which must hold for a vulnerability to exist. This scheme allows for vulnerabilities to fall into multiple classes without ambiguity, and enables analysts to focus on the causes of vulnerabilities. We use a tree-based approach to organize these conditions at different levels of abstraction.
