In order to investigate the nature of the phase transition, we study the finite temperature effective potential for the λΦ theory in the Hartree-Fock approximation, which sums up all the daisy and superdaisy diagrams.
The spontaneous generation of the magnetic and chromomagnetic fields at high temperature is investigated in the Standard Model. The consistent effective potential including the one-loop and the daisy diagrams of all boson and fermion fields is calculated. The mixing of the generated fields due to the quark loop diagram is studied in detail. It is found that the quark contribution increases the ...
The traditional approach taken to the provision of music for the print impaired by major organisations has been largely concerned with Braille Music. However, reading Braille Music is a specialised skill and not all visually impaired people can learn this skill. There are some technologies available which allow the print-impaired to service themselves but there remains a lot of work to be done ...
Why do plants mimic female insects to attract males for pollination? A new study gives insights into the advantages of sexual mimicry and documents this pollination system for the first time outside the orchid family, in a South African daisy.
We report a photoresponsive monofunctionalized pillar[5]arene based on stiff stilbene. The Z isomer, Z-1, tends to form self-complexing [1]pseudorotaxanes and [c2] daisy chains, whereas the E analog, E-1, forms supramolecular polymers.
The temperature phase transition in the N-component scalar field theory with spontaneous symmetry breaking is investigated in the pertur-bative approach. The second Legendre transform is used together with the consideration of the gap equations in the extrema of the free energy. Resummations are performed on the super daisy level and beyond. The phase transition turns out to be weakly of first ...
We compute the effective potential for φ4 theory with a squeezed coherent state type of construct for the ground state. The method essentially consists in optimising the basis at zero and finite temperatures. The gap equation becomes identical to resumming the infinite series of daisy and super daisy graphs while the effective potential includes multiloop effects and agrees with that obtained t...
Group communication is an important paradigm for fault tolerance in large scale systems. We describe various group architectures as pipelined, hierarchical, daisy and hypercube groups each consisting of separate clusters, investigate the theoretical performance bounds of these architectures and evaluate their experimental performances using MPI group communication primitives. We first derive ti...
The temperature phase transition in the N -component scalar field theory with spontaneous symmetry breaking is investigated using the method combining the second Legendre transform and with the consideration of gap equations in the extrema of the free energy. After resummation of all super daisy graphs an effective expansion parameter, (1/2N)1/3, appears near Tc for large N . The perturbation t...
This paper reports on our experience using a dynamic analysis tool, Terracotta, to automatically infer temporal properties, and a model checker, Java PathFinder, to check the inferred properties. To our best knowledge, this is the first experiment using a model checker to check automatically inferred properties. We introduce two key ideas to make our approach effective. First, we develop techni...
