objective: bipolar i disorder is a common disorder with a complex etiology. a genetic approach is gaining increasing importance in this disorder. the dysbindin gene, located at 6p22.3 is considered a susceptibility gene for schizophrenia. certain genotypes of dysbindin are thought to be associated with other psychoses such as bipolar disorders. this study intends to assess the association in pr...

in this article differential transformation method (dtms) has been used to solve neutral functional-differential equations with proportional delays. the method can simply be applied to many linear and nonlinear problems and is capable of reducing the size of computational work while still providing the series solution with fast convergence rate. exact solutions can also be obtained from the kno...

in this paper, we study the numerical solution of hybrid fuzzy differential equations by using differential transformation method (dtm). this is powerful method which consider the approximate solution of a nonlinear equation as an infinite series usually converging to the accurate solution. several numerical examples are given and by comparing the numerical results obtained from dtm  and  predi...

In this study, two lagged fractional order singular neutral differential equations are considered. Using the advantage of association property Riemann -Liouville derivative, derivative appropriate Lyapunov function is calculated. Then, with help LMI, sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability zero solutions obtained.

A complex interplay between transcription factors (TFs) and the genome regulates transcription. However, connecting variation in genome sequence with variation in TF binding and gene expression is challenging due to environmental differences between individuals and cell types. To address this problem, we measured genome-wide differential allelic occupancy of 24 TFs and EP300 in a human lymphobl...

BACKGROUND Variations in the pattern of molecular associations are observed during disease development. The comprehensive analysis of molecular association patterns and their changes in relation to different physiological conditions can yield insight into the biological basis of disease-specific phenotype variation. METHODOLOGY Here, we introduce a formal statistical method for the differenti...

Differential allocation of reproductive effort towards offspring of attractive mates is a form of post-copulatory mate choice. Although differential allocation has been demonstrated in many taxa, its evolutionary implications have received little attention. Theory predicts that mate choice will lead to a positive genetic correlation between female preference and male attractiveness. This predic...

I would like to thank Pedone et al 1 for their recent article in CHEST (April 2012). The article presented data on the association between pulmonary restriction, properly defi ned as having a total lung capacity (TLC) below the fi fth percentile of the reference population (lower limit of normal [LLN]), and all-cause mortality. As the authors correctly pointed out, defi ning restriction as FVC ...

The small proteins encoded by KCNE1 and KCNE2 have both been proposed as accessory subunits for the HERG channel. Here we report our investigation into the cell biology of the KCNE-HERG interaction. In a co-expression system, KCNE1 was more readily co-precipitated with co-expressed HERG than was KCNE2. When forward protein trafficking was prevented (either by Brefeldin A or engineering an ER-re...

The differential diagnosis of a lateral neck mass includes a number of possible etiologies. While jugular venous aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms are rare entities, they should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a pulsatile lateral neck mass. We present a case of an idiopathic jugular venous pseudoaneurysm and its association with worsening tricuspid regurgitation in a patient with hea...
