this study was conducted in english for academic purposes (eap) context to explore iranian teachers' perceptions of their pedagogical content knowledge (pck) and their sense of professional identity (pi) as well as to scrutinize how their cognitions were practiced in eap classes. to this end, two elt teachers and two content instructors (i.e. subject experts who teach eap courses in addition to...

In this paper, an attempt is first made to clarify and tease apart the somewhat confusing terms genre, register, text type, domain, sublanguage, and style. The use of these terms by various linguists and literary theorists working under different traditions or orientations will be examined and a possible way of synthesising their insights will be proposed and illustrated with reference to the d...

The Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) describes a framework that allows the use of multiple authentication mechanisms. This document defines an authentication mechanism for EAP called EAP-EKE, based on the Encrypted Key Exchange (EKE) protocol. This method provides mutual authentication through the use of a short, easy to remember password. Compared with other common authentication metho...

A case of hypertension in a young woman caused by an extra-adrenal phaeochromocytoma (EAP) situated in the hilum of the left kidney is reported. Surgical removal of the EAP resulted in control of the patient's hypertension without further drug treatment. The clinical features, diagnostic work-up and management of EAP are briefly discussed.

To initiate invasive infection, Staphylococcus aureus must adhere to host substrates, such as the extracellular matrix or eukaryotic cells, by virtue of different surface proteins (adhesins). Recently, we identified a 60-kDa cell-secreted extracellular adherence protein (Eap) of S. aureus strain Newman with broad-spectrum binding characteristics (M. Palma, A. Haggar, and J. I. Flock, J. Bacteri...

Extracellular adherence protein (Eap) from Staphylococcus aureus inhibits the adherence of neutrophils to nonstimulated and tumor necrosis factor alpha-stimulated endothelial cells in both static adhesion assays and flow adhesion assays. Consequently, Eap also impaired their transendothelial migration. During an S. aureus infection, Eap may thus serve to reduce inflammation by inhibiting neutro...

The ensemble average propagator (EAP) describes the 3D average diffusion process of water molecules, capturing both its radial and angular contents. The EAP can thus provide richer information about complex tissue microstructure properties than the orientation distribution function (ODF), an angular feature of the EAP. Recently, several analytical EAP reconstruction schemes for multiple q-shell...

The Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is a framework for transporting authentication credentials. EAP offers simpler interoperability and compatibility across authentication methods. EAP supports multiple authentication methods. In this paper, we have modelled the Extensible Authentication Protocol as a finite state machine. The various entities in our model are Authenticator, EAP Server...

Various researches have proposed multiple protocols within 802.11 security to protect and authenticate access to wireless LAN. This paper presents the first implementation of EAP-TLS protocol in smartcards. It introduces also the Pre-SharedKey protocol (PSK), a lightweight identity authentication for access control and key calculation and distribution within WLAN security. The performance and t...

INTRODUCTION: The quest of diffusion-weighted (DW) imaging is to non-invasively obtain information about the average diffusion of water molecules in biological tissue. Many recent high angular resolution diffusion imaging (HARDI) [1, and references therein] techniques are proposed to infer the diffusion or fiber orientation distribution function (ODF), but this ODF only captures the angular str...
