Electronic voting is done by recording election data centrally and presenting it into fast digital information. E-voting an internet technology, which aims to improve the performance of process, expected be a breakthrough in technological development that helps human work. Security constraints e-voting include distribution voting, for example voters who distribute rights, are illegitimate can a...
Blockchain is offering new opportunities to develop new types of digital services. While research on the topic is still emerging, it has mostly focused on the technical and legal issues instead of taking advantage of this novel concept and creating advanced digital services. In this paper, we are going to leverage the open source Blockchain technology to propose a design for a new electronic vo...
Remote electronic voting is currently being piloted in the UK as a means of increasing the convenience of casting a ballot, which it is hoped will be reflected in an increased participation in elections. Most proposed electronic voting schemes envisage the use of cryptography in order to model the features of democratic elections, which, informally, include notions such as the secret ballot and...
This paper proposes practical receipt-free voting schemes which are suitable for (nation wide) large scale elections. One of the proposed scheme requires the help of the voting commission, and needs a physical assumption, the existence of an untappable channel. The other scheme does not require the help of the commission, but needs a stronger physical assumption, the existence of a voting booth...
This chapter gives a summary of cryptographic e-voting protocols. We start with a motivation and an overview of some aspects of traditional elections. We then outline the security requirements of e-voting and present in detail two approaches to cryptographic e-voting, based on homomorphic encryption and mix networks. We finish the chapter with a list of open problems.
This paper covers the some of the security issues in current electronic voting systems. There are many problems with current electronic voting systems . The certification of systems in the USA is done without public input, and the resulting certification reports are kept secret. Many machines lack external audit capabilit ies such as a voter verifiable paper trail. Many systems can be easily ha...
World wide, there are various proposals for automating manual voting processes. This paper considers two different e-voting schemes, Internet voting and direct recording electronic (DRE) voting systems, explicitly focusing on risk to the integrity of the voting process. Fair elections must assure voter authentication, vote confidentiality and integrity, and the ability to audit the election. E-...
