In this paper, an embedded frequency modulation (FM) transmission control software (SW) for a low power battery system is designed and implemented. The simultaneous translation systems for various languages are needed as so many international conferences and festivals are held in world wide. Especially in portable transmitting and receiving systems, the ability of long operation life is used fo...

In this paper, the performance evaluation of Frequency Modulated Chaotic On-Off Keying (FM-COOK) in AWGN, Rayleigh and Rician fading channels is given. The simulation results show that an improvement in BER can be gained by incorporating the FM modulation with COOK for SNR values less than 10 dB in AWGN case and less than 6 dB for Rayleigh and Rician fading channels.

In this paper, speech intelligibility is enhanced by manipulating the modulation spectrum of the signal. First, the signal is decomposed into Amplitude Modulation (AM) and Frequency Modulation (FM) components using a high resolution adaptive quasi-harmonic model of speech. Then, the AM part of midrange frequencies of speech spectrum is modified by applying a transforming function which follows ...

In general, the problem of determining the amplitude and frequency modulations ~AM and FM! of a signal is ill posed because there is an unlimited number of combinations of AM and FM that will generate a given signal. Although Gabor proposed a method for uniquely defining the AM and FM of a signal, namely via the analytic signal, the results obtained are sometimes physically paradoxical. In this...

In this paper, the AM{FM modulation model is applied to speech analysis, synthesis and coding. The multiband demodulation pitch tracking algorithm is proposed that produces smooth and accurate fundamental frequency contours. The AM{ FM modulation vocoder represents speech as the sum of resonance signals modeled by their amplitude envelope and instantaneous frequency signals. E cient modeling an...

This paper presents the results of simulation experiments that successfully demonstrate FM co-channel voice separation via cross coupled phase locked loops (CCPLL). Unlike previous CCPLL studies which are typically restricted to the situation where the FM modulation waveforms are steady state sinusoidal, triangular, etc., we have empirically determined CCPLL loop parameters that provide for sta...

Cells sense external concentrations and, via biochemical signaling, respond by regulating the expression of target proteins. Both in signaling networks and gene regulation there are two main mechanisms by which the concentration can be encoded internally: amplitude modulation (AM), where the absolute concentration of an internal signaling molecule encodes the stimulus, and frequency modulation ...

— In this paper a new approach to model climatic variations in the Plio-Pleistocene is presented. In a recent reference, Rial in [1] introduced the working hypothesis that frequency modulation (FM) of the orbital eccentricity forcing may be an important source of the nonlinearities observed in the δO time series from deep-sea sediment cores. Two models are proposed based on the ANFIS (Adaptive ...

Recently, a digital baseband receiver called zerointermediate frequency zero-crossing demodulator (ZIFZCD) was developed for digital FM signal detection. ZIFZCD is applicable to many worldwide mobile and personal communications systems. In addition, ZIFZCD offers lower power consumption and simpler implementation, compared to the conventional analog implementation [e.g., a limiter-discriminator...
