Let E be an arbitrary real Banach space andK a nonempty, closed, convex (not necessarily bounded) subset of E. If T is a member of the class of Lipschitz, strongly pseudocontractive maps with Lipschitz constant L ≥ 1, then it is shown that to each Mann iteration there is a Krasnosleskij iteration which converges faster than the Mann iteration. It is also shown that the Mann iteration converges ...
We present a new approach to the infinitesimal structure of Lipschitz maps into L, and as an application, we give an alternative proof of the main theorem of [CK06], that the Heisenberg group does not admit a bi-Lipschitz embedding in L. The proof uses the metric differentiation theorem of [Pau01] and the cut metric description in [CK06] to reduce the nonembedding argument to a classification o...
Recent characterizations of various types of diierentiable generalized monotone maps by Karamardian{ Schaible{Crouzeix and their strengthened versions by Crouzeix{Ferland are extended to the nonsmooth case. For nondiierentiable locally Lipschitz maps necessary and/or suucient conditions for quasimono-tonicity, pseudomonotonicity and strict/ strong pseudomonotonicity are derived. To accomplish t...

We consider certain properties of maps of class C from R to Rd−1 that are strictly related to Sard’s theorem, and show that some of them can be extended to Lipschitz maps, while others still require some additional regularity. We also give counterexamples showing that, in term of regularity, our results are optimal.

In this paper we investigate the Lipschitz equivalence of dust-like self-similar sets in Rd. One of the fundamental results by Falconer and Marsh [On the Lipschitz equivalence of Cantor sets, Mathematika, 39 (1992), 223– 233] establishes conditions for Lipschitz equivalence based on the algebraic properties of the contraction ratios of the self-similar sets. In this paper we extend the study by...
