A patient with a 15 year history of secondary polycythaemia due to renal erythropoietin hypersecretion is presented. Subsequent spontaneous development of bilateral renal lymphocoeles, which contained high erythropoietin levels, was shown by computerized tomography. The lymphocoeles were successfully treated by bilateral peritoneal marsupialization. No cause for the persistent polycythaemia or ...
Dissecting cellulitis of the scalp (DCS), or perifolliculitis capitis abscedens et suffodiens, is a rare, chronic, relapsing and remitting inflammatory disease of the scalp. We present a case of a patient with severe DCS refractory to medical management on chronic high-dose prednisone. We describe the procedure of marsupialization under general anesthesia which may be an effective treatment opt...
Ranula is a mucus extravasation cyst originating from the sublingual gland on the floor of the mouth. Congenital ranula is very rare. We report a case of a 4-month-old girl with a congenital ranula in the floor of mouth. The ranula was treated first by marsupialization, but the cyst recurred after 1 week. Excision of the ranula was done and was successful.
