Stability Analysis of Mathematical Model on HIV Infection with the Effects of Antiretroviral therapy
background : drug injection is one of the most significant risk factors for viral hepatitis and human immunodeficiency virus (hiv) infection. the present study was performed to evaluate the frequency of hepatitis b (hbv) and hiv infection in idus and to identify the risk factors of these infections in this group in a central city of iran, shahre-kord. methods : this study was conducted in 2004 ...
hepatitis b virus (hbv) is the most prevalent viral infection and is among the leading causes of human liver diseases. nearly 360 millions of people are world widely infected with prolonged forms of hepatitis b including active and inactive chronic forms. chronic hepatitis b (chb) is associated with cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (hcc) in patients suffering from congenital and/or acquir...
Engineered therapeutic viruses provide an alternative method for treating infectious diseases, and mathematical models can clarify the system's dynamics underlying this type of therapy. In particular, this study developed models to evaluate the potential to contain human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection using a genetically engineered 'hunter' virus that kills HIV-1-infected cells...
due to lack of knowledge management system in the organization of technical and vocational university of iran (tvuni) and losing good employees because of retirement and substitution causes huge amount of costs to replace the similar expertise. there is no any suitable system in the tvuni to store, to document, and to distribute knowledge. based on the university’s features such as it has diffe...
Background Viral load (VL) testing is highly important for detection of antiretroviral treatment (ART) failure in AIDS patients. However, due to the cost and availability of viral load testing instruments, VL testing is not being performed in many developing and underdeveloped countries. Such countries depend on CD4 tests for staging the HIV infection and for initiating ART, since CD4 testing i...
Background: Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is a common infection in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients and may accelerate HIV progression by rising HIV viral load and decreasing CD4 count. However, the available data regarding the influence of HSV-2 seropositivity on HIV progression in HIV individuals are inconclusive. Therefore, we aimed to determine HSV-2 seroprevalence in na&iu...
In this paper, the multistage variational iteration method is implemented to solve a general form of the system of first-order differential equations. The convergence of the proposed method is given. To illustrate the proposed method, it is applied to a model for HIV infection of CD4+ T cells and the numerical results are compared with those of a recently proposed method.
