Two actinomycetes isolates RK-302 and RK-320 obtained from limestone rock of Dehradun, Uttarakhand were characterized morphologically, biochemically by using 16S rDNA sequencing at Jaypee Institute Information Technology, Noida during 2017-18. Differences in morphological/biochemical features showed that the differed each other as well nearest matching strains GenBank database. Variation dimens...

Content fingerprinting and digital watermarking are techniques that are used for content protection and distribution monitoring. Over the past few years, both techniques have been well studied and their shortcomings understood. Recently, a new content fingerprinting scheme called active content fingerprinting was introduced to overcome these shortcomings. Active content fingerprinting aims to m...

Modified Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) protocol for DNA isolation was developed from leaf tissuesof Phyllanthus emblica for obtaining high quality genomic DNA. Fresh leaves of three different maturitywere analyzed for yield and quality of DNA. Acidity was determined in three different maturity of leaves viz.tender, intermediate and mature and their influence on DNA qua...

We show that the interpretation of molecular epidemiological data for extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) is dependent on the number of different markers used to define transmission. Using spoligotyping, IS6110 DNA fingerprinting, and DNA sequence data, we show that XDR-TB in South Africa (2006 to 2008) was predominantly driven by the acquisition of second-line drug resistance.

Erwinia psidii causes bacterial disease of guava in Brazil. Phenotypic and molecular characterization through rep-PCR fingerprinting of 42 strains from different geographical regions showed that E. psidii populations in Brazil have a low level of genetic diversity and suggest that contaminated plant material is the main source for pathogen dissemination in the country.

PCR fingerprinting was used to type 177 yeast isolates obtained from two medical institutions. Candida albicans was the predominant species found, followed by C. tropicalis, C. glabrata, C. parapsilosis, C. guilliermondii, and C. krusei, which accounted for over 20% of the strains isolated. This survey represents the first study of molecular epidemiology of candidiasis in Portugal.
