The electrical behavior of multi-walled carbon nanotube network embedded in amorphous silicon nitride is studied by measuring the voltage and temperature dependences of the current. The microstructure of the network is investigated by cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy. The multi-walled carbon nanotube network has an uniform spatial extension in the silicon nitride matrix. The cur...

Skin effect mitigation in laser processed multi-walled carbon nanotube/copper conductors" (2015). In this study, laser-processed multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/Cu conductors are introduced as potential passive components to mitigate the skin effect of Cu at high frequencies (0–10 MHz). Suppressed skin effect is observed in the MWCNT/Cu conductors compared to primitive Cu. At an AC frequen...

Dynamic atomic force microscopy (dynamic AFM) with carbon nanotube tips has been suggested as an enabling tool for high precision nanometrology of critical dimension features of semiconductor surfaces. We investigate the performance of oscillating AFM microcantilevers with multi-walled carbon nanotube (multi-walled CNT) tips interacting with high aspect ratio structures while in the attractive ...

In this work, the structural and electronic properties of folic acid molecule on functionalized (7,0)zigzag single-walled carbon nanotube was studied in gas phase on the basis of density functionaltheory (DFT). Furthermore, covalent interaction of folic acid with single-walled carbon nanotube wasinvestigated and its quantum molecular descriptors and binding energies were calculated. The DFTB3LY...

Self-catalytic behavior of multi-walled carbon nanotubes is proposed and validated experimentally under the conditions in which metal catalysis was previously figured to work only. The self-catalysis could support the nanotube nucleation and radial and axial developing processes. This result should lead to a new and better understanding of the growth mechanism of carbon nanotubes in a metal cat...

Arrays of aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube-ionic liquid (MIL) were assembled on silicon wafers (Si-MIL). Formation of Si-MIL was confirmed by FTIR, AFM and Raman techniques. The electrochemical measurements indicated that Si-MIL showed good electrocatalysis towards oxygen reduction compared with MIL drop-cast on a glassy carbon electrode.

Nano-TaOx particles were supported on multi-walled carbon nanotubes via the thermal decomposition of oxy-tantalum phthalocyanine. The phthalocyanine-derived carbon connected TaOx particles with the nanotube-support to provide a conductive path. The oxygen reduction reaction activity, which solely originated from TaOx, was above 0.9 V with larger currents than conventional TaOx particles in acid...

Background: Natural organic matters (NOMs) have the main role in formation of trihalomethanes. These compounds are in natural water sources due to biological activities. In the presented study, adsorption and separation of humic acid as an index of natural organic matters using multi-walled carbon nanotubes is evaluated. Methods: The experiments were carried out in bath adsorption reactors wit...
