Fuzzy data representation and manipulation is needed in Data Warehouse due to imprecision or uncertainty from different sources. Nevertheless, this problem has not been wide explored. We propose a fuzzy multidimensional model, cube and operators with a notion of fuzzy hierarchy based on fuzzy functional dependencies.

A fuzzy aspect is introduced into L systems and some of its properties are investigated. The relationship between fuzzy L languages and the fuzzy languages generated by fuzzy grammar defined by Lee and Zadeh is elucidated. The concept of fuzzy entropy of a string is proposed as a measure of fuzziness of the latter. Some relationship between fuzzy L systems and the ordinary L systems is discussed.

The purpose of present work is to study some algebraic aspect of fuzzy multiset regular languages. In between, we show the equivalence of multiset regular language and fuzzy multiset regular language. Finally, we introduce the concept of pumping lemma for fuzzy multiset regular languages, which we use to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a fuzzy multiset language to be non-cons...

An inverse minimum spanning tree problem is to make the least modification on the edge weights such that a predetermined spanning tree is a minimum spanning tree with respect to the new edge weights. In this paper, a type of fuzzy inverse minimum spanning tree problem is introduced from a LAN reconstruction problem, where the weights of edges are assumed to be fuzzy variables. The concept of fu...

Due to the increasing occurrence of very large databases, mining useful information and knowledge from transactions is evolving into an important research area. In the past, many algorithms were proposed for mining association rules, most of which were based on items with binary values. Transactions with quantitative values are, however, commonly seen in real-world applications. In this paper, ...

The paper presents addition of fuzzy numbers realised with the application of the multidimensional RDM arithmetic and horizontal membership functions (MFs). Fuzzy arithmetic (FA) is a very difficult task because operations should be performed here on multidimensional information granules. Instead, a lot of FA methods use α-cuts in connection with 1-dimensional classical interval arithmetic that...

In this paper we present a different framework for the study of fuzzy finite machines and their fuzzy languages. Unlike the previous work on fuzzy languages, characterized by fuzzification at the level of their acceptors/generators, here we follow a top-down approach by starting our fuzzification with more abstract entities: monoids and particular families in monoids. Moreover, we replace the u...

Fuzzy decision tree induction algorithms require the fuzzy quantization of the input variables. This paper demonstrates that supervised fuzzy clustering combined with similarity-based rule-simplification algorithms is an effective tool to obtain the fuzzy quantization of the input variables, so the synergistic combination of supervised fuzzy clustering and fuzzy decision tree induction can be e...

The image data as well as the nature of querying image data is fuzzy. Users like to retrieve images based on similarity rather than exact matching. Often, the users are able to provide only partial information while posing queries. As a consequence, the query languages of traditional databases which deal with precise data are inappropriate for querying image data. Content based retrieval system...
