results the ovarian hormones level showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). furthermore, the unk cell population showed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05). conclusions increased ovarian hormones due to low-dose aspirin administration resulted in decline in the unk cells number, which may be effective in successful pregnancy....

Natural killer (NK) cells possess effector and immunoregulatory functions that are controlled by a myriad of receptor-ligand pairs, including human killer inhibitory receptor (KIR) and mouse Ly49-MHC class I interactions. We have recently shown that the NK cell inhibitory molecule Ly49A binds the non-classical MHC molecule H2-M3, thus regulating host innate immune responses to tumor initiation ...

Natural killer (NK) cells are a gatekeeper of the body’s innate defense system against cancers and infections. A growing body literature from us others finds that NK promote anti-cancer immune surveillance, defects in cell development associated with poor clinical prognosis cancers. In preclinical studies, were found to drive tumor regression delay relapse. Because potentially less damaging eas...

Natural killer (NK) cells have held great promise for the immunotherapy of cancer for more than 3 decades. However, to date only modest clinical success has been achieved manipulating the NK cell compartment in patients with malignant disease. Progress in the field of NK cell receptors has revolutionized our concept of how NK cells selectively recognize and lyse tumor and virally infected cells...

INTRODUCTION Polymorphisms in the type III interferon IFN-λ3 and the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes controlling the activity of natural killer (NK) cells can predict spontaneous resolution of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. We hypothesized that IFN-λ3 polymorphism may modulate NK cell function during acute HCV. METHODS We monitored the plasma levels of type III ...

Natural killer (NK) cells are integral components of the antitumor immune response. The downregulation of ligands for NK-cell stimulatory receptors represents a strategy whereby glioblastoma cells can evade NK-cell attacks. Histone deacetylase inhibitors can stimulate the (re)expression of these ligands, driving cytotoxic responses against glioblastoma cells that efficiently inhibit tumor growth.

Natural killer (NK) cells are potential immune components against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after curative hepatectomy. Patients at high risk of HCC recurrence can be identified by quantifying NK cell licensing. Therefore, therapeutic strategies that manipulate NK cell activity may possibly improve the prognosis of HCC patients.
