METHODS Forty-eight patients with forty-eight Neer two-part surgical neck proximal humeral fractures were managed with loc...

Fractures of the talus are uncommon. The relative infrequency of these injuries in part accounts for the lack of useful and objective data to guide treatment. The integrity of the talus is critical to normal function of the ankle, subtalar, and transverse tarsal joints. Injuries to the head, neck, or body of the talus can interfere with normal coupled motion of these joints and result in perman...

Fractures of the proximal femur are a big challenge in traumatology. Rapid strides in implant and instrumentations in quest of ideal fixation of pertrochanteric and subtrochanteric femoral fractures have made various options available like Fixed-angled nail plate, Screw plates, Angled blade plate, Dynamic Hip Screw etc. The present study aims to study the role of standard PFN as a minimal invas...

Pathologic femoral neck fracture due to renal osteodystrophy is rare. We report the case of a young adult patient with chronic renal failure who presented with bilateral spontaneous femoral neck fractures due to renal osteodystrophy. The pathophysiology of renal osteodystrophy and the treatment of hip fractures in patients with renal failure is discussed.

Over half had taken systemic corticosteroids, nearly all were severely osteopenic but few had rheumatoid...

Background: Femoral neck fracture causes disability if not treated properly and high-energy fractures usually have increased complication rates. Does closed reduction and internal fixation of femoral neck high energy fractures have increased complication rates? Methods: We used closed reduction and internal fixation using 3 cannulated cancellous screws. There were 67 patients (39 male, 28 femal...
