heuristics are often used to provide solutions for flow shop scheduling problems.the performance of a heuristic is usually judged by comparing solutions and run times on test cases.this investigation proposes an analytical alternative ,called asymptotic convergence ,which tests the convergence of the heuristic to a lower bound as problem size grows. the test is a stronger variation of worst cas...

The spline collocation method is used to approximate solutions of boundary value problems. The convergence analysis is given and the method is shown to have second-order convergence. A numerical illustration is given to show the pertinent features of the technique.

In this paper a higher-order numerical solution of a non-linear Volterra integro-differential equation is discussed. Example of this question has been solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta-Verner method for Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) part and Newton-Cotes formulas for integral parts.

In this paper, Solvability nonlinear Volterra integral equations with general vanishing delays is stated. So far sinc methods for approximating the solutions of Volterra integral equations have received considerable attention mainly due to their high accuracy. These approximations converge rapidly to the exact solutions as number sinc points increases. Here the numerical solution of nonlinear d...

In this paper, we found the error bounds for one of open Newton–Cotes formulas, namely Milne’s formula differentiable convex functions in framework fractional and classical calculus. We also give some mathematical examples to show that newly established are valid formula.

Interactions are explored through the observation of the dynamics of particles. On the classical level the basic underlying assumption in that scheme is that Newton's second law holds. Relaxing the validity of this axiom by, e.g., allowing for higher order time derivatives in the equations of motion would allow for a more general structure of interactions. We derive the structure of interaction...

This work is devoted to the study of integration with respect to binomial measures. We develop interpolation quadrature rules and study their properties. Applying a local error estimate based on null rules, we test two automatic integrators with local quadrature rules that generalize the five points Newton Cotes formula.

In many applications of ageand size-structured population models, there is an interest in obtaining good approximations of total population numbers rather than of their densities. Therefore, it is reasonable in such cases to solve numerically not the PDE model equations themselves, but rather their integral equivalents. For this purpose quadrature formulae are used in place of the integrals. Si...

‎the main purpose of this paper is to study the numerical solution of nonlinear volterra integral equations with constant delays, based on the multistep collocation method. these methods for approximating the solution in each subinterval are obtained by fixed number of previous steps and fixed number of collocation points in current and next subintervals. also, we analyze the convergence of the...
