We calculate the width for the ω → ππ decay in nuclear medium. Chiral dynamics and low-density approximation are used. At densities around twice the nuclear saturation density we estimate the partial width for the decay of the longitudinal mode to be of the order of a few tens of MeV, and for the transverse mode a few times less.

Resonant optical excitation of lowest-energy excitonic transitions in self-assembled quantum dots leads to nuclear spin polarization that is qualitatively different from the well-known optical orientation phenomena. By carrying out a comprehensive set of experiments, we demonstrate that nuclear spin polarization manifests itself in quantum dots subjected to finite external magnetic field as loc...

We present a quantum solution to the electron spin decoherence by a nuclear pair-correlation method for the electron-nuclear spin dynamics under a strong magnetic field and a temperature high for the nuclear spins but low for the electron. The theory incorporates the hyperfine interaction, the intrinsic both direct and indirect nuclear interactions, and the extrinsic nuclear coupling mediated b...

Control of nuclear RNA stability is essential for proper gene expression, but the mechanisms governing RNA degradation in mammalian nuclei are poorly defined. In this study, we uncover a mammalian RNA decay pathway that depends on the nuclear poly(A)-binding protein (PABPN1), the poly(A) polymerases (PAPs), PAPα and PAPγ, and the exosome subunits RRP6 and DIS3. Using a targeted knockdown approa...

Statistical modeling of nuclear data using artificial neural networks (ANNs) and, more recently, support vector machines (SVMs), is providing novel approaches to systematics that are complementary to phenomenological and semi-microscopic theories. We present a global model of β−-decay halflives of the class of nuclei that decay 100% by β− mode in their ground states. A fully-connected multilaye...

in this research we work with the effective hamiltonian and the quark model. we investigate the decay rates of matter-antimatter of quark. we describe the effective hamiltonian theory and apply this theory to the calculation of current-current ( ), qcd penguin ( ), magnetic dipole ( ) and electroweak penguin ( ) decay rates. the gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays is studied through th...

The corrections to muon decay due to electromagnetic interactions have been recalculated. Our results differ from those of Behrends, Finkelstein, and Sirlin, because those authors used an inconsistent method for handling the infrared divergences which arise separately in the real and virtual processes. The disagreement is especially significant near the end of the electron (positron) spectrum w...

undoubtedly, tooth decay is still one of the most significant problems in human communities. tooth decay is defined as a microbial disease that causes demineralization of hard tissues and degradation of organic components of teeth. although there are various theories on etiology of dental caries, miller’s acidogenic theory (1890) and gottileb’s proteolitic theory (1933) have gained the most cre...
