Objectives: Several methods of image acquisition are accessible in dentistry. There is no overall acceptable method for image digitization so all different types of images can be comparable. The objective of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of different methods of image digitization. Methods: This accuracy diagnostic test study used perceptibility curve test which first intr...
This paper introduces a new algorithm for computing multiresolution optical flow, and compares this new hierarchical method with the traditional combination of the Lucas-Kanade method with a pyramid transform. The paper shows that the new method promises convergent optical flow computation. Aiming at accurate and stable computation of optical flow, the new method propagates results of computati...
ÐIn this paper, we propose a novel method to register two or more optical images to a 3D surface model. The potential applications of such a registration method could be in medicine; for example, in image guided interventions, surveillance and identification, industrial inspection, computer assisted manufacture, computer assisted maintenance, or telemanipulation in remote or hostile environment...
We address the issue of adapting optical images-based edge detection techniques for use in Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) imagery. We modify the gravitational edge detection technique (inspired by the Law of Universal Gravity) proposed by Lopez-Molina et al, using the non-standard neighbourhood configuration proposed by Fu et al, to reduce the speckle noise in polarimetric SAR i...
Porous Silicon (PS) layers have been prepared from p-type silicon wafers of (100) orientation. SEM, XRD, FTIR and PL studies were done to characterize the surface morphological and optical properties of PS. The porosity of the PS samples was determined using the parameters obtained from SEM images by geometric method. The refractive index values of the PS samples as a function of poros...
We extend the concept of optical flow to a dynamic non-Euclidean setting. Optical flow is traditionally computed from a sequence of flat images. It is the purpose of this paper to introduce variational motion estimation for images that are defined on an evolving surface. Volumetric microscopy images depicting a live zebrafish embryo serve as both biological motivation and test data.
