Updating Optimal Coefficients and Selected Observations Affine Projection is an effective way to reduce the computational and power consumption of this algorithm in the application of adaptive filters. On the other hand, the calculation of this algorithm can be reduced by using subbands and applying the concept of filtering the Set-Membership in each subband. Considering these concepts, the fir...

In this paper, we consider the class of infinite-dimensional discrete-time linear systems with multiplicative random disturbances (i.e. with the state multiplied by a random sequence), also known as stochastic bilinear systems. We formulate and solve the quadratic optimal-control problem for this class of systems subject to an arbitrary additive stochastic £2 input disturbance. Under assumption...

In this paper we study the optimal control problem for multi-input bilinear systems. We adopt a method based on rewriting our system in a compartments form, and finding the optimal control which minimizes a given cost function by applying the Pontryagin’s maximum principle. Also, we present an iterative process to find a solution of the optimality system.

Well-posedness of abstract quantum mechanical systems is considered and the existence of optimal control of such systems is proved. First order optimality systems are derived. Convergence of the monotone scheme for the solution of the optimality system is proved.

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in bilinear systems [1, 2, 3] as appropriate mathematical model to represent the dynamical behaviour for a wide class of the engineering, biological, and economic systems. Recently many studies of the bilinear systems have been done from various points of view, e.g. controllability or observability, and a lot of problems connected with the o...

We consider a class of positive systems in which the control signal enters bilinearly with the state. Such dynamics arise naturally, for example, from modeling the evolutionary dynamics of HIV in the presence of drug therapy. For this class of system, we formulate an infinite horizon optimal control problem and show that the optimal control signal is constant over time. We further extend our re...

In this paper, we investigate a residual-based posteriori error estimates for the hp finite element approximation of general optimal control problems governed by bilinear elliptic equations. By using the hp discontinuous Galerkin finite element approximation for the control and the hp finite element approximation for both the state and the co-state, we derive a posteriori upper error bounds for...

In this paper we develop optimal control laws for traffic networks. A standard traffic flow model is used to formulate the traffic control in terms of " on-off " strategy for the traffic signals. It is of the form of the optimal bilinear control problem with the binary constraints. We develop a Lyapunov function based feedback law for minimizing traffic congestions and stabilizing the traffic f...

In this paper we study a property of the filtering step of multi-cycle reconstruction algorithms used in the field of cardiac CT. We show that the common filtering step procedure is not optimal in the case of divergent geometry and decrease slightly the temporal resolution. We propose to use the filtering procedure related to the work of Noo at al [7] and show that this alternative allows to re...
