A novel dual band, highly sensitive Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) sensor for permittivity measurements is presented. pair of modified Complementary Split Ring Resonators (CSRRs) etched on SIW surface. CSRRs are located in the center SIW, where electric field distribution high so that coupling be maximized. The between and as well adjacent results two notches transmission coefficient. The...

Plasmonic cloaking is a scattering-cancellation technique based on the local negative polarizability of metamaterials. Here we report its first experimental realization and measurement at microwave frequencies. An array of metallic fins embedded in a high-permittivity fluid has been used to create a metamaterial plasmonic shell capable of cloaking a dielectric cylinder, yielding over 75% reduct...

[l] The SHARAD instrument on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter detects subsurface interfaces beneath lava flow fields northwest of Ascraeus Mons. The interfaces occur in two locations; a northern flow that originates south of Alba Patera, and a southern flow that originates at the rift zone between Ascraeus and Pavonis Montes. The northern flow has permittivity values, estimated from the time del...

The Kramers-Kronig relations are derived for the permittivity of the usual plasma model which neglects dissipation and of a generalized model which takes into account the interband transitions. The generalized plasma model is shown to be consistent with all precision experiments on the measurement of the Casimir force.

In this work the electromagnetic modeling activities of the Electromagnetics and Matter Research Group (GEM) at the Technical University of Cartagena are reviewed. In particular, waveguide inverse permittivity measurement techniques, neural network devices modeling and efficiency and electric field uniformity achievement for multimode ovens by using dielectric moulds are reviewed. Additionally,...
