Recombination processes in GaP/GaNP core/shell nanowires (NWs) grown on Si are studied by employing temperature-dependent continuous wave and time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies. The NWs exhibit bright PL emissions due to radiative carrier recombination in the GaNP shell. Though the radiative efficiency of the NWs is found to decrease with increasing temperature, the PL emission...
We review the radiative corrections to superallowed Fermi transitions and neutron β decay in the Standard Model, and their relevance for the universality of the Weak Interactions. Radiative Corrections and the Universality of the Weak Interactions Alberto Sirlin The study of radiative corrections (R.C.) to μ and β decays has played an important role in the analysis of weak interactions before a...
The angular dependence of the spontaneous emission of CdTe quantum dots (QDs) inside a photonic crystal with a pseudogap is reported. The sensitive dependences of the radiative lifetime and the photoluminescence spectrum of CdTe QDs on the observation angle demonstrate the effect of the photonic bandgap on the spontaneous emission of the QDs.
Infrared (IR) light sources with high modulation rates are critical components for on-chip optical communications. Lead-based colloidal quantum dots are promising nonepitaxial materials for use in IR light-emitting diodes, but their slow photoluminescence lifetime is a serious limitation. Here we demonstrate coupling of PbS quantum dots to colloidal plasmonic nanoantennas based on film-coupled ...
Using atomistic, semiempirical pseudopotential calculations, we show that if one assumes the simplest form of a surface state in a CdSe nanocrystal--an unpassivated surface anion site--one can explain theoretically several puzzling aspects regarding the observed temperature dependence of the radiative decay of excitons. In particular, our calculations show that the presence of surface states le...
Abstract Substrates have strong effects on optoelectronic properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials, which emerged as promising platforms for exotic physical phenomena and outstanding applications. To reliably interpret experimental results predict such at 2D interfaces, theoretical methods accurately describing electron correlation electron-hole interaction first-principles many-body pertur...
