The high energy and nuclear physics community is interested in fast bright heavy crystal scintillators, such as cerium-doped LSO and LYSO. An investigation is being carried out to explore the potential use of the LSO and LYSO crystals in future physics experiments. Optical and scintillation properties, including longitudinal transmittance, emission and excitation spectra, light output, decay ki...

Abstract We prepared crystals of (C 6 H 5 C n 2 NH 3 ) PbBr 4 ( = 2, 3, 4), and evaluated their photoluminescence scintillation characteristics. According to the spectra under 340 nm excitation light, a peak at around 410 due free exciton emissions appeared in (2PEA), (3PPA) 8 (4PBA). The quantum efficiencies 2PEA, 3PPA 4PBA were 0.24, 0.01 0.04, respectively. In scintillation, sharp originatin...

Abstract Bismuth germanium oxide (Bi 4 Ge 3 O 12 , BGO) scintillation crystals are widely used as detectors in the fields of particle physics and astrophysics due to their high density, thus higher efficiency for gamma-ray detection. Owing good chemical stability, they can be any environment. For rare-event searches, such dark matter coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering, BGO essential c...

Abstract Cerium-doped Lutetium-Yttrium Oxyorthosilicate (LYSO:Ce) is one of the most widely used Lutetium based scintillation crystals. Initially developed for medical detectors it rapidly became attractive High Energy Particle Physics (HEP) applications, especially in frame high luminosity particle colliders. In this paper, a comprehensive and systematic study LYSO:Ce ([Lu (1- x ) Y ] 2 SiO 5 ...

Department of Radiology, Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305, USA The aim of this work is to demonstrate time of flight (ToF) performance from analog electro-optical transmission of SiPM-based PET detector signals. In electro-optical readout schemes, scintillation signals are converted to near-infrared light by a laser diode and transmitted out of the MRI bore with fiber-optics [1], greatly...

The gamma-ray excited, temperature dependent scintillation characteristics of CsI(Tl) are reported over the temperature range of -100 to +50°C. The modified Bollinger-Thomas and shaped square wave methods were used to measure the rise and decay times . Emission spectra were measured using a monochromator and corrected for monochromator and photocathode spectral efficiencies . The shaped square ...
