In this paper we provide a detailed analysis of the limiting behaviour of some very general families of solutions to the boundary value problem ∆v = 0 in Ω, ∂v/∂n = λ sinh(v) on ∂Ω, as λ → 0. The existence of countably many of these families has already been established in the papers [4] and [6].

We derive the differential equation governing the stationary states of the HMC equation. A field-theoretical formalism is developed for describing the continuous version of the system of discrete, point-like vortices in plane. The equation we obtain is ∆φ + sinh φ (cosh φ − p) = 0.

In this paper, the (G′/G)-expansion method is applied to seek traveling wave solutions of the combined and the double combined sinh-cosh-Gordon equations. This traveling wave solutions are expressed by the hyperbolic functions and the trigonometric functions.
