This paper discusses energy extraction from atmospheric turbulence by smalland microuninhabited aerial vehicles. A controller which superimposes a gust-dependent control input on a state-feedback derived control input is proposed, and a genetic algorithm is used to obtain control gains as well as the optimal nominal trim state is described. Control laws are designed for both vertical sinusoidal...

background: functional electrical stimulation (fes) is the most commonly used system for restoring functions after spinal cord injury (sci). objective: in this study we investigated feedback pid and feedforward-feedback p-pid controllers for regulating the elbow joint angle. methods: the controllers were tuned based on a nonlinear muculoskeletal model containing two links, one joint with one de...

This study investigates six degrees-of-freedom nonlinear tracking control of rigid spacecraft under external disturbances. We propose two nonlinear tracking controllers having disturbance attenuation ability, namely, a proportionalderivative (PD)-type H∞ state feedback controller and a proportional-integral-derivative (PID)-type H∞ state feedback controller. Both these controllers have positive...

A feedback controller design which guarantees both finite-time boundedness and H∞ attenuation for a class of nonlinear systems with conic type nonlinearities and additive disturbances is presented. Conditions which guarantee the existence of a robust state-feedback controller for maintaining a bound on the transient response and satisfying an H∞ bound in the steady state for this class of syste...

due to the high efficiency and low switching losses of resonant power convertors in comparison with switching convertors, nowadays there is a growing trend towards these convertors. however, because of the high frequency of switching in such convertors, it is quite difficult to present an efficient control method. in this paper, based on the state feedback method and using pole placement techni...

This paper considers the problem of stabilizing a wastewater plant using damping feedback controller. The nonlinear model used is the AM1 anaerobic digestion model. The proposed approach consists in using a damping state feedback controller that renders a desired equilibrium stable through feedback. We first construct an approximate dissipative potential function centered at the desired equilib...

This paper discusses the state feedback stabilization problem for a class of networked control systems with nonlinear perturbation and state quantization. Firstly, under consideration of both network-induced delay and the data packet dropout in the transmission, a state feedback controller is constructed without considering the state quantization. Then, based on the unified framework of network...

The aim of this paper is to investigate a novel approach for output feedback damping controller design ofSTATCOM in order to enhance the damping of power system low frequency oscillations (LFO). The design ofoutput feedback controller is considered as an optimization problem according with the time domain-basedobjective function which is solved by a honey bee mating optimization algorithm (HBMO...

An output feedback controller with adaptive conditional servocompensator is developed for robust output regulation of a class of nonlinear minimum-phase systems. It is shown that the controller achieves asymptotic regulation and can be tuned to recover the transient performance of a state feedback sliding-mode-controller.
