background & aim: nowadays, tendency to agricultural biotic product sustainable agriculture instead of chemical fertilizers has been going up in all over the world. so, most pharmaceutical industries prefer to use raw material which is produced from organic and stable system. producing organic medicinal plants, such as peppermint, seems important in economical, ecological and bio enviro...
Microorganisms in the rhizosphere mediate the cycling of nutrients, their enhanced mobilisation and facilitate their uptake, leading to increased root growth, biomass and yield of plants. We examined the promise of beneficial cyanobacteria and eubacteria as microbial inoculants, applied singly or in combination as consortia or biofilms, to improve growth and yields of okra. Interrelationships a...
An experiment was carried out during two subsequent years, i.e., 2009-10 and 2010-11 to study the influence of Azotobacter, vermicompost on growth, flowering, yield and quality of strawberry cv. Chandler. There were nine treatments comprising two levels each of Azotobacter (6 and 7 kg/ha) and vermicompost (20 and 30 t/ ha) and their combinations along with one control, replicated thrice in rand...
We report the complete genome sequences of Azotobacter vinelandii mutant strain CA6 and its parent wild-type strain, CA. When fixing nitrogen, strain CA6 displays slow growth and impaired molybdate uptake, tolerance to tungstates, and production of hydrogen gas, compared to results for strain CA. Comparing these genome sequences may provide a genetic basis for these mutant phenotypes.
3,3′-Diaminobenzidine was applied at doses of 5, 10, 25, and 50 mg kg−1 of soil and their effects were evaluated on indigenous soil microbial communities (viable aerobic bacteria, fungal populations, aerobic N2-fixing bacteria, denitrifying, and nitrifying bacteria), and soil enzymatic activities (acid and alkaline phosphatases, arylsulfatase, and dehydrogenase). At doses of 5 or 10 mg kg−1, 3,...
In 1923 a 20-year experiment was begun in an effort to gain information on the following points: (1) The factors that influence the longevity of Azotobacter when introduced into a soil from which it is normally absent; (2) the effect of introducing and maintaining an Azotobacter flora in such a soil upon the crop-producing abihty and the nitrogen balance of the soil. The recent comprehensive su...
Many organic chemicals have been found to be active in controlling various physiologic processes associated with plant growth. In the course of a study concerning the effect of one group of these compounds, the herbicides, on the respiration of members of the genus Azotobacter, Magee (1954) noted that the source of nitrogen in the respiratory menstruum affected the response of the organisms to ...
in order to evaluation of nitrogen fertilizer application and seed inoculation by azotobacter and azosprillium on yield, rate and grain filling period of corn sc-500 cultivar, a factorial experiment was conducted based on randomized complete block design with three replications in farm of agriculture and natural resource research center of azarbaijan-e- shargi province in 2011. the factors were...
A greenhouse experiment was conducted at Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute, Central Region of Iran to evaluate the effects of some plant growth promoting bacteria and fungi inoculation on growth and minituber yield of potato cultivars. The experiment was arranged as a factorial based on a completely randomized design with ten replications. Three potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) genot...
