The paper deals with the LQG controller design optimizing the amount of power produced by two bladed horizontal variable speed wind turbines. The proposed controller ensures not only an optimal operation of turbines but also enables a compromise with the minimization of the blade oscillations and with the tower bending tendency.

This document introduces a new Internal MultiModel controller design method for a linear system with a limited variable time delay. This design method is based on the use of a models collection to approximate the system functioning using Padé approximations; these models are inversed and multiplied by low pass filters in order to obtain a set of controllers that calculate the command value thro...

This paper addresses the stabilization problem of discrete switched linear systems. When the mode is available, a mode-dependent state feedback controller is developed. The main contribution of this note is to provide a less conservative approach to design the mode-independent state feedback controller where the switching mode is not accessible. Both design procedures are expressed in terms of ...

An approach to solve the mechatronic design problem is to formulate the problem as a multiobjective dynamic optimization problem (MDOP), where kinematic and dynamic models of the mechanical structure and the dynamic model of the controller are considered besides a set of constraints and a performance criteria. This design methodology can provide a set of optimal mechanical and controller parame...

In this study, we build up the double-dynamic models of variable speed wind power systems and design a new type Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) PI-NN controller to improve the precision of the Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) tracking based on the models. Moreover, the effect of the PI-NN controller and the PILQG controller are compared based on Matlab/simulation and the results show that precision of...

in previous papers authors have considered agents as inertia-less self driven particles and designed a flocking algorithm. application of this algorithm to agents with considerable inertial characteristics needs a behavioural controller. the controller uses the local information and helps every agent to imitate the desired behaviour as a member of the flocking frame which covers the main issue ...

due to the changes which may occur in their parameters, systems are usually demonstrated by some subsystems for different conditions. this paper employs modified petri nets (mpn) to model theses subsystems and makes it simple to analyze them. in this method, first, the continuous transfer function is converted to a discrete transfer function and then, by mpn, system is modeled and analyzed. all...

the aim of this paper is to investigate a novel approach for output feedback damping controller design ofstatcom in order to enhance the damping of power system low frequency oscillations (lfo). the design ofoutput feedback controller is considered as an optimization problem according with the time domain-basedobjective function which is solved by a honey bee mating optimization algorithm (hbmo...

This paper presents the application of discrete-time variable structure control with sliding mode based on the ‘reaching law’ method for robust control of a ‘simple inverted pendulum on moving cart’ a standard nonlinear benchmark system. The controllers designed using the above techniques are completely insensitive to parametric uncertainty and external disturbance. The controller design is car...

The Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is described by fuzzy if-then rules which represent local linear systems of the underlining nonlinear systems (Takagi & Sugeno, 1985; Tanaka et al., 1996; Tanaka & Sugeno, 1992) and thus it can describe a wide class of nonlinear systems. In the last decade, nonlinear control design methods based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system have been explored. Since the stability ...
