In this paper we present the reasoning mechanism in the OWLIM family of semantic repositories, which is based on materialization. This mechanism is evaluated using a combination of datasets from the Linked Open Data cloud in a public service called FactForge, where the benefits of materialization are manifested in improved SPARQL query performance.
Abstract The life cycle of a residential structure is separated into three stages: materialization, usage, and demolition, according to the theory buildings. Materialization, use, demolition computation models are built based on features building carbon emissions. model used calculate analyze sensitivity emissions during whole Qianluo 1# building. results demonstrate that total output for over ...
In object-oriented information systems, objects can be semantically related to interact and cooperate in collective tasks. From a structural point of view, such interactions can be conceptually modeled by semantic relationships (e.g., aggregation, materialization). However, only a few object-oriented systems or languages provide rst-class mechanisms for interobject relationships. A rst contribu...
View materialization is an important technique for high performance query processing, data integration and replication. Solutions to the problem of incrementally maintaining materialized views are very relevant. So far, most work on this problem has been confined to relational settings and solutions have not been comprehensively evaluated. This paper describes MOVIE, a complete, implemented and...
A common problem in data warehousing is reduction of response time for ad-hoc queries. To reduce query processing time, a selected number of views are materialized. Selecting the optimal number of views in a data warehouse is known to be an NP-complete problem as no feasible deterministic algorithm exists. In this paper we discuss a weighted materialized view selection (MVS) problem where both ...
A view mechanism can provide a user with an appropriate portion of a database through data filtering and aggregation. Views are often materialized for query performance improvement, and in that case, their consistency needs to be maintained against updates of the underlying data. They can be either recomputed or incrementally refreshed by reflecting only the relevant updates. With the emergence...

Data cube materialization is a classical database operator introduced in Gray et al. (Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Vol. 1), which is critical for many analysis tasks. Nandi et al. (Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Vol. 6) first studied cube materialization for large scale datasets using the MapReduce framework, and proposed a sophisticated modification of a simple broadca...
With the advent of the Internet, access to database servers from autonomous clients will become more and more popular. In this paper, we propose a monitoring service that could be offered by such database servers, and present algorithms for its implementation. In contrast to published view maintenance algorithms, we do not assume that the server has access to the original materialization when c...
