Long hours of static work with awkward posture at traditionally designed looms can cause high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among carpet weavers. A comprehensive study was conducted in this industry with the objectives of determination of MSDs symptoms prevalence; identification of major factors associated with MSDs symptoms in carpet weaving occupation; and development of guid...
An Aspect-oriented Programming (AOP) based approach is proposed to perform context-aware service composition on the fly. It realises context-aware composition by semantically weaving context into static Web service composition. A context weaver is implemented based on the proposed approach. The proposed semantic weaving allows services to be composed in a systematic way with changing context.
Weaving knots are alternating knots with the same projection as torus knots, and were conjectured by X.-S. Lin to be among the maximum volume knots for fixed crossing number. We provide the first asymptotically correct volume bounds for weaving knots, and we prove that the infinite weave is their geometric limit.
Zinacantec Maya weaving tools and apprenticeship practices contain an implicit theory of cognitive development that corresponds to Piaget and Inhelder’s explicit theory of cognitive development [The Child’s Conception of Space, London, Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1956]. A set of preoperational and concrete operational spatial problems from the weaving domain provided empirical support for the eth...
Observations of 22 orb-weaving species of the family Uloboridae show that these spiders assum e one of four basic resting postures as they hang beneath the web's hub . The primitive pattern found in Tangaroa and Octonoba is characterized by all legs being spread and about equally flexed, whereas i n Zosis the protracted first legs grasp the web at nearly the same point . Uloborus species typica...
purpose : to determine the effect of carpet weaving on refractive errors methods : in this cross sectional study, carpet weavers and non-weavers in the normal population of mashhad were regarded as exposed and non-exposed groups, respectively. a carpet weaver was a person who wove carpets 7 hours a day for at least 2 years. the non-weavers group was selected from the population of mashhad throu...
Mulhern Automated proof assistants provide few facilities for incremental development. Generally, if the underlying structures on which a proof is based are modified, the developer must redo much of the proof. Yet incremental development is really the most natural approach for proofs of programming language properties [5, 12]. We propose " proof weaving " , a technique that allows a proof devel...
This study examines weaving techniques in three rare samples of Ghashghaei tribe hand-woven artifacts. Two first samples, “Shishe dermeh baafi” and “O’ei baafi” (2 laaye baafi) we found similarities and differences in the weaving structures, which are: Similarities: Both are hand-woven products woven through flat weaving, having two opposite colours warp and woof. ...
