We introduce implicit zero-knowledge arguments (iZK) and simulation-sound variants thereof (SSiZK); these are lightweight alternatives to zero-knowledge arguments for enforcing semi-honest behavior. Our main technical contribution is a construction of efficient two-flow iZK and SSiZK protocols for a large class of languages under the (plain) DDH assumption in cyclic groups in the common referen...
Let A be a C∗-algebra. Let E and F be Hilbert A-modules with E being full. Suppose that θ : E → F is a linear map preserving orthogonality, i.e., 〈θ(x), θ(y)〉 = 0 whenever 〈x, y〉 = 0. We show in this article that if, in addition, A has real rank zero, and θ is an A-module map (not assumed to be bounded), then there exists a central positive multiplier u ∈M(A) such that 〈θ(x), θ(y)〉 = u〈x, y〉 (x...
A mapping f : M → N between Hilbert C∗-modules approximately preserves the inner product if ‖〈f(x), f(y)〉 − 〈x, y〉‖ ≤ φ(x, y), for an appropriate control function φ(x, y) and all x, y ∈ M. In this paper, we extend some results concerning the stability of the orthogonality equation to the framework of Hilbert C∗modules on more general restricted domains. In particular, we investigate some asympt...
We consider the effect of noise on the dynamics generated by volume-preserving maps on a d-dimensional torus. The quantity we use to measure the irreversibility of the dynamics is the dissipation time. We focus on the asymptotic behaviour of this time in the limit of small noise. We derive universal lower and upper bounds for the dissipation time in terms of various properties of the map and it...
We discuss the harmonicity of horizontally conformal maps and their relations with the spectrum of the Laplacian. We prove that if φ : M → N is a horizontally conformal map such that the tension field is divergence free, then φ is harmonic. Furthermore, if N is noncompact, then φ must be constant. Also we show that the projection of a warped product manifold onto the first component is harmonic...
We study a general Kishimoto’s problem for automorphisms on simple C∗-algebras with tracial rank zero. Let A be a unital separable simple C∗-algebra with tracial rank zero and let α be an automorphism. Under the assumption that α has certain Rokhlin property, we present a proof that A ⋊α Z has tracial rank zero. We also show that if the induced map α∗0 on K0(A) fixes a “dense” subgroup of K0(A)...
The zero-error capacity of a discrete classical channel was first defined by Shannon as the least upper bound of rates for which one transmits information with zero probability of error [C. Shannon, IRE Trans. Inform. Theory, IT-2(3):8–19, 1956]. Here, we define the quantum zero-error capacity, a new kind of classical capacity of a noisy quantum channel C represented by a trace-preserving map (...
We present a method of control of chaos in area-preserving maps. This method gives an explicit expression of a control term which is added to a given area-preserving map. The resulting controlled map which is a small and suitable modification of the original map, is again area-preserving and has an invariant curve whose equation is explicitly known.
