The problem of the determination of the Hilbert-space metric Θ which renders a given Hamiltonian H self-adjoint is addressed from the point of view of applicability of computer-assisted algebraic manipulations. An exactly solvable example of the so called Gegenbauerian quantum-lattice oscillator is recalled for the purpose. Both the construction of suitable Θ = Θ(H) (basically, the solution of ...

We show that Connes’ embedding conjecture on von Neumann algebras is equivalent to the existence of certain algebraic certificates for a polynomial in noncommuting variables to satisfy the following nonnegativity condition: The trace is nonnegative whenever self-adjoint contraction matrices of the same size are substituted for the variables. These algebraic certificates involve sums of hermitia...

Monadic MV –algebras are an algebraic model of the predicate calculus of the Lukasiewicz infinite valued logic in which only a single individual variable occurs. GMV -algebras are a non-commutative generalization of MV -algebras and are an algebraic counterpart of the non-commutative Lukasiewicz infinite valued logic. We introduce monadic GMV -algebras and describe their connections to certain ...

Let $\\rho$ be the $p$-adic Galois representation attached to a cuspidal, regular algebraic automorphic of $\\operatorname{GL}\_n$ unitary type. Under very mild hypotheses on $\\rho$, we prove vanishing (Bloch–Kato) adjoint Selmer group $\\rho$. We obtain definitive results for groups associated non-CM Hilbert modular forms and elliptic curves over totally real fields.

The major subject of algebraic quantum eld theory is the study of nets of local C*-algebras, i.e. maps O 7 ! A(O) assigning to each open, relatively compact region O of space-time (M; g) a C*-algebra A(O), whose self-adjoint elements describe local observables measurable in the region O. A question discussed recently in a number of papers is how much information about the geometric structure of...

In this work, I address a primary issue with adapting categorical and algebraic concepts to functional analytic settings, the lack of free objects. Using a “normed set” and associated categories, I describe constructions of normed objects, which build from a set to a vector space to an algebra, and thus parallel the natural progression found in algebraic settings. Each of these is characterized...

We demonstrate a physical motivation for extending color-dual or BCJ double-copy construction to include theories with kinematic numerators that obey the same algebraic relations as symmetric structure constants, d^{abc}=Tr[{T^a,T^b}T^c]. verify U(N) nonlinear sigma model (NLSM) pions, long known be in terms of antisymmetric adjoint factors, f^{abc}, are also sense color structures, d^{abc}, ex...

Using the algebraic method of Gardner’s deformations for completely integrable systems, we construct recurrence relations for densities of the Hamiltonians for the Boussinesq and the Kaup–Boussinesq equations. By extending the Magri schemes for these equations, we obtain new integrable systems adjoint with respect to the initial ones and describe their Hamiltonian structures and symmetry proper...

We consider the T–equivariant cohomology of Bott–Samelson desingularisations of Schubert varieties in the flag manifold of a connected semi–simple complex algebraic group of adjoint type with maximal torus T . We construct a combinatorially pure (in the sense of T. Braden and R. Macpherson) sheaf on the Bruhat graph of the associated Weyl group such that its global sections give the T–equivaria...

In this paper we exhibit the Toda lattice equations in a double bracket form which shows they are gradient flow equations (on their isospectral set) on an adjoint orbit of a compact Lie group. Representations for the flows are given and a convexity result associated with a momentum map is proved. Some general properties of the double bracket equations are demonstrated, including a discussion of...
