In 2008, African swine fever was introduced into Georgia, after which it spread to neighboring Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation. That same year, PCR and sequence analysis identified African swine fever virus in samples from 3 dead female wild boars in northwestern Iran. Wild boars may serve as a reservoir.

The data on 38 species of megachilid bees in the tribes Lithurgini, Dioxyini, and Megachilini collected Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azerbaijan mainly 2018–2020 are given. Seventeen new to Azerbaijan, four other as a result present investigation fauna currently numbers 160 family Megachilidae. A mosaic gynandro¬morph Megachile albisecta (Klug, 1817) is also described.
