A new outer layer composition, consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Kel-F oil, and Nafion, is suggested to minimize the detrimental effect of dissolved oxygen and to extend the linear response range of a glucose oxidase(GOx)-based sensor using nonconducting polymer. The morphology of Kel-F/PTFE/Kel-F/Nafion polymeric laminate was followed during fabrication by SEM. When Kel-F film was ...

Wireless sensor networks are often located in areas where access to them is difficult or dangerous. Today, in wireless sensor networks, cluster-based routing protocols by dividing sensor nodes into distinct clusters and selecting local head-clusters to combine and send information of each cluster to the base station and balanced energy consumption by network nodes, get the best performance ...

A novel optical sensor device monolithically integrated on a glass capillary is presented. Therefore, we took advantage of the ability to fabricate organic optoelectronic devices on non-planar substrates. The functionality of the concept is demonstrated by realizing an integrated oxygen sensor based on luminescence decay time measurement.

Very often, high-temperature operated gas sensors are cross-sensitive to oxygen and/or they cannot be operated in oxygen-deficient (rich) atmospheres. For instance, some metal oxides like Ga(2)O(3) or doped SrTiO(3) are excellent materials for conductometric hydrocarbon detection in the rough atmosphere of automotive exhausts, but have to be operated preferably at a constant oxygen concentratio...

This paper describes a process for the layer-by-layer fabrication and integration of luminescent dye-based optical oxygen sensors into microfluidic devices. Application of oxygen-sensitive platinum(ii) octaethylporphyrin ketone fluorescent dye dissolved in polystyrene onto glass substrates by spin-coating was studied. Soft lithography with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) stamps and reactive ion etc...

sybil attacks pose a serious threat for wireless sensor networks (wsn) security. they can create problems in routing, voting schemes, decision making, distributed storage and sensor re-programming. in a sybil attack, the attacker masquerades as multiple sensor identities, that are actually controlled by one or a few existing attacker nodes. sybil identities are fabricated out of stolen keys, obt...

in this study, a specific ch4 sensor is fabricated based on interdigitated electrode that modified with core-shell of tungsten carbide/tin oxide (wc/sno2) nanoparticles by wet chemical method in different percents of carbon and tungsten. the morphology of wet chemical-synthesized wc/sno2 core-shell was evaluated by different methods such as patterned x-ray diffraction (xrd), and particle size a...

An experimental system is described for validating electrochemical oxygen sensors implanted in tissues. The system is a modified hamster window chamber in which a thin layer of vascularized tissue is held between two plates, one plate having an observation window and the other plate having an array of oxygen sensors. This arrangement permits simultaneous recording of oxygen sensor signals and n...

We report a method for the selective chemisorption of oxygen and nitrogen in sealed cavities utilizing microdischarges between thin-film Ti electrodes. The method is used to remove contaminating air from both inert and organic gas environments, reducing the nitrogen and oxygen concentrations by factors of 50 and 16, respectively. A microchip-based optical emission spectroscopic sensor is used t...
