We investigate the notion of history preserving bisimulation [15, 18, 3] for contextual P/T nets, a generalization of ordinary P/T Petri nets where a transition may check for the presence of tokens without consuming them (non-destructive read operations). A first equivalence, simply called HP-bisimulation, is based on Winskel’s prime event structures. A finer equivalence, called RHP-bisimulatio...

In this paper, we consider an operator for refinement of variables to be used in the design of hybrid system. Variables on a given level of abstraction are replaced by more complicated processes on a lower level just like the function are called in the program. Then we established the equivalence, bisimulation equivalence and approximate bisimulation equivalence which are by polynomial flow eve...

Bisimulation is a seemingly attractive state-space minimization technique because it can be computed automatically and yields the smallest model preserving all-calculus formulas. It is considered impractical for symbolic model checking, however, because the required BDDs are prohibitively large for most designs. We revisit bisimulation minimization, this time in an automata-theoretic framework....

We present an efficient algorithm for computing the partial bisimulation preorder and equivalence for labeled transitions systems. The partial bisimulation preorder lies between simulation and bisimulation, as only a part of the set of actions is bisimulated, whereas the rest of the actions are simulated. Computing quotients for simulation equivalence is more expensive than for bisimulation equ...

Bisimulation is a fundamental notion that characterizes behavioral equivalence of concurrent systems. In this paper, we study the problem of encoding eÆcient bisimulation checkers for niteas well as in nite-state systems as logic programs. We begin with a straightforward and short (less than 10 lines) encoding of nite-state bisimulation checker as a tabled logic program. In a goal-directed syst...

Graph-structured databases have numerous recent applications including the Semantic Web, biological databases and XML, among many others. In this paper, we study the maintenance problem of a popular structural index, namely bisimulation, of a possibly cyclic data graph. In comparison, previous work mainly focuses on acyclic graphs. In the context of database applications, it is natural to compu...

Graph-structured databases have numerous recent applications including the Semantic Web, biological databases and XML, among many others. In this paper, we study the maintenance problem of a popular structural index, namely bisimulation, of a possibly cyclic data graph. To illustrate the design of our algorithm, first, we present some challenges of bisimulation minimization of cyclic graphs. Se...

This paper develops a decision algorithm for weak bisimulation on Markov Automata (MA). For this purpose, different notions of vanishing states (a concept originating from the area of Generalised Stochastic Petri Nets) are defined. In particular, non-näıvely vanishing states are shown to be essential for relating the concepts of (state-based) näıve weak bisimulation and (distribution-based) wea...

The notion of bisimulation is extended to Game Logic (GL), a logic for reasoning about winning strategies in 2-player games. We show that all game constructions of GL are safe for bisimulation, i.e. that an atomic bisimulation can be lifted to non-atomic games constructed by the operations of GL. As a consequence, bisimilar states satisfy the same GL-formulas.

The definition of bisimulation suggests a partition-refinement step, which we show to be suitable for a saturation-based implementation. We compare our fully symbolic saturation-based implementation with the fastest extant bisimulation algorithms over a set of benchmarks, and conclude that it appears to be the fastest algorithm capable of computing the largest bisimulation over very large quoti...
