At Crypto 2008, Shamir introduced a new algebraic attack called the cube attack, which allows us to solve black-box polynomials if we are able to tweak the inputs by varying an initialization vector. In a stream cipher setting where the filter function is known, we can extend it to the cube attack with annihilators: By applying the cube attack to Boolean functions for which we can find low-degr...

Stack filters are a class of non-linear, digital filters whose behaviour is defined by Positive Boolean Functions rather than the multiply-accumulate, arithmetic operators that are widely used in conventional digital filters. The implementation of stack filters that can be adapted in real-time is feasible using dynamically reconfigurable FPGAs. This paper reports on efforts to map adaptive stac...

In this paper, we propose a novel acoustic echo suppression (AES) technique based on soft decision in a frequency domain. The proposed approach provides an ef cient and uni ed framework for such procedures as AES gain computation, AES gain modi cation using soft decision, and estimation of relevant parameters based on the same statistical model assumption of the near-end and far-end signal inst...

A large body of research exists around the idea of channel shortening, where a prefilter is designed to reduce the effective channel impulse response to some smaller number of contiguous taps. This idea was originally conceived to reduce the complexity of Viterbi-based maximum-likelihood equalizers. Here, we consider a generalization of channel shortening which we term “channel sparsening”. In ...

In this paper a modified version of the Akthar’s method for online secondary path modeling in active noise control systems is proposed. The proposed method defines two variable step sizes for control filter and modeling filter. The control filter step size μm is adapted by using the variable threshold value Tj and the modeling filter step size μm is adapted by using a new modified variable step...

We investigate reliable multicast communication over satellite networks. We compare a scenario where receivers can use a feedback channel to signal loss to a scenario where no feedback channel is available. We show that the introduction of a feedback channel is the key to allow for bandwidth-eecient, robust, and fully reliable multicast communication via satellite.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to compare the notion a Grzegorczyk point introduced in [19] (and thoroughly investigated [3, 14, 16, 18]) standard notions filter Boolean algebras and round contact algebras. In particular, we points filters ultrafilters atomic atomless We also prove how certain extra axiom influences topological spaces for Last but not least, do refrain from philosophical...

The performance of MMSE Iterative Equalization based on MAP-SBVP and COD-MAP algorithms (for generating extrinsic information) are compared for fading and non-fading communication channels employing serial concatenated convolution codes. MAP-SBVP is a convolution decoder using a conventional softMAP decoder followed by a soft-convolution encoder using the soft-boolean value propagation (SBVP). ...

A polygonisation algorithm is presented which extends an existing skeletal implicit surface technique to include operations based on Constructive Solid Geometry between blended groups of implicit surface objects. The result is a surface definition (to be called Boolean Compound Soft Object, or BCSO for short) which consists of a boolean expression with union, intersection, and set difference op...

We show how many di erent variants of Switching Kalman Filter models can be represented in a uni ed way, leading to a single, general-purpose inference algorithm. We then show how to nd approximate Maximum Likelihood Estimates of the parameters using the EM algorithm, extending previous results on learning using EM in the non-switching case [DRO93, GH96a] and in the switching, but fully observe...
