An equation proposed recently (Haase and Jansen, 1980) relates to the dependence on composition and temperature of the diffusion coefficient D and of the kinematic diffusion coefficient D* in a binary nonelectrolyte solution. This equation is now applied to our own measurements of the activity coefficients and of the diffusion coefficient in the non-ideal liquid system carbon tetrachloride + ac...

in this paper, we investigate the existence of infinitely many solutions for a bi-nonlocal equation with sign-changing weight functions. we use some natural constraints and the ljusternik-schnirelman critical point theory on c1-manifolds, to prove our main results.

Two peptide bonds of staphylococcal enterotoxin C, were hydrolyzed concurrently at quite different rates during limited digestion with trypsin. A Lys-Val at about position 92 in the disulfide loop was the first bond cleaved, followed by a Lys-Asx at about position 57 on the NH2-terminal side of the loop. Preparations of singly cleaved material (enterotoxin C1-T1) contained about 93% of the clea...

Highly purified cytochrome c1, which consists of only one heme peptide and does not form a stable c1-c complex (c1-H-c complex), was used in studies of electron transfer between cytochrome c1 and c. Results show that a stable and ionic-strength-sensitive c1-c complex (i.e., the c1-H-c complex) in the forms of the various oxidation states is not required, in contrast to the current belief of the...

We study the solutions to the delay differential equation equation ẋ(t) = −a(t)x(t− h), where the coefficient a(t) is not necessarily positive. It is proved that this equation is exponentially stable provided that a(t) = b+ c(t) for some positive constant b less than π/(2h), and the integral R t 0 c(s)ds is sufficiently small for all t > 0. In this case the 3/2-stability theorem is improved.

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is one of the most successful optimization techniques of swarm intelligence and has been fast developed in recent years. However, the performance of PSO is significantly depended on the acceleration coefficients c1 and c2 which control the exploration and convergence abilities. Parameters c1 and c2 are the “self-cognitive” coefficient and “social-influence” coe...

with the growth of more humanistic approaches towards teaching foreign languages, more emphasis has been put on learners’ feelings, emotions and individual differences. one of the issues in teaching and learning english as a foreign language is demotivation. the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the components of language learning strategies, optimism, duration o...
