Two cases of benign chondral tumors of the talar neck region (an osteoid osteoma and a chondroblastoma) were described. Because of their specific, unusual site they could be resected by arthroscopy. The imaging aspects, incidence in foot bones and possibilities of treatment were discussed, and a literature review is presented.
Benign chondroblastoma of mandibular bone is an extremely rare tumor. Although 9 cases have been reported in the mandibular condyle in the English literature, to the best of our knowledge this is the first case originated from anterior mandible in a 31-year-old male.
A benign chondroblastoma of the temporal bone in an 8-year-old boy is reported. Head CT showed an expansile mass with calcifications in the center. The tumor appeared as a well-lobulated, hypointense intraosseous mass on T1-weighted brain MR; it was isointense to brain parenchyma on intermediate-weighted images and enhanced homogenously with gadolinium.
The authors report an unusual location of a benign chondroma of the petro-sphenoidal synchondrosis extending into the cavernous sinus. Computerized tomography and magnetic resonance image features were characteristic of chondroid tumor. However, pathologic verification is mandatory in order to distinguish chondroma from chondroblastoma or chondroid chordoma.
Chondroblastomas are highly destructive tumors that are derived from immature cartilage cells. The occurrence of this tumor in the temporal bone or skull base is uncommon. Approximately 70 cases have previously been reported, several of which have involved the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). We report here the case of a 67-year-old woman who presented with right-sided mixed hearing loss, a right...
temporal bone chondroblastoma is an extremely rare benign bone tumor. we encountered two cases showing similar imaging findings on computed tomography (ct), magnetic resonance imaging (mri), and dual-time-point 18f-fluorodeoxyglucose (18f-fdg) positron emission tomography (pet)/ct. in both cases, ct images revealed temporal bone defects and sclerotic changes around the tumor. most parts of the ...
OBJECTIVE To determine the clinico-pathological and histological features of Chondroblastoma (CB). STUDY DESIGN Case series.
