The incidence of multiple fistulas within all coronary arteriovenous fistulas varies between 10.7% and 16%. Double coronary-arteriovenous fistulas originating from a coronary artery are much less common. In this study, we present a double fistula originating from left anterior descending coronary artery and communicating with main pulmonary artery. A 72-year-old female patient was admitted to o...
In this case report, we describe a 71-year-old woman with right conal coronary artery-to-pulmonary trunk fistula. She visited the outpatient clinic of the nephrology department for long-term management of renal dysfunction. On transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) conducted as a part of cardiac evaluation, an abnormal Doppler color flow taking a course toward echocardiographic probe was incident...
A 40 year-old man with no significant past history except for asymptomatic 1 st degree heart block presented for general health screen. Clinical examination revealed a loud continuous murmur with diastolic accentuation in the left precordium, non-collapsing pulse, and no differential pulses in the upper and lower limbs. The ECG showed normal sinus rhythm with PR interval of 220 milliseconds. Tr...
A coronary artery fistula was surgically ligated in a 38-year-old woman via a left anterior mini-thoracotomy without the use of cardiopulmonary bypass. In selected cases, this surgical approach can provide an excellent surgical exposure for coronary artery fistula ligation. It also offers an excellent cosmetic result and shorter hospital stay.
Only 12 cases of coronary artery to left atrium fistula have been reported, with successful correction in at least seven. We describe a unique case of repair of a left main coronary artery to left atrium fistula using revascularisation with general discussion of the embryology, pathophysiology, complications, and diagnosis of these fistulae, indications for operation, and guidelines for surgica...
UNLABELLED INTRODUCTION Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula is a vascular condition that may result from coronary angiography. Many case reports have described arteriovenous fistula occurrence after coronary angiography using the transfemoral access route, but rarely as a complication of using the transradial approach. We report a rare case of a patient with arteriovenous fistula following tran...
Coronary artery anomalies are often discovered incidentally during cardiac catheterization or computed tomography coronary angiography and may involve the affected coronary artery origin and its course. Coronary artery anomalies are associated with congenital heart disease. The affected coronary arteries may have an unusual high take off origin, origin from contralateral or non-coronary sinus, ...
We report a 71-year-old man who presented with atypical chest pain. Coronary angiography did not reveal left main or proximal left anterior descending coronary artery stenosis, but a fistulous communication with a stronger tube-like fistula was present originating from the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery and emptying into the main pulmonary artery. Fractional flow reserve and ...
Carotid cavernous fistulas are abnormal communications between the carotid and cavernous vasculature, with potential for serious neurological and ocular sequelae. There is considerable literature on the neuro-radiological management of carotico-cavernous fistula depending upon their flow status. The coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for coronary artery disease (CAD) is a well established m...
DOI: 10.5935/abc.20140160 An 80-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of an acute coronary syndrome. He had undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) 12 years ago, which involved a left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft to the left anterior descending coronary artery. Direct LIMA injection revealed an arteriovenous fistula between the distal portion of a grossly dilated LI...
