We extract a relatively precise value for the decay constant of the meson by measuring B(D+ --> mu+nu) = (4.40 +/-0.66(+0.09)(-0.12) x 10(-4) using 281 pb(-1) of data taken on phi(3770) the resonance with the CLEO-c detector. We present the first lattice QCD calculation with realistic sea quark content of the D+-meson decay constant f(D+). We use the MILC Collaboration's publicly available ensembles of lattice gauge fields, which have a quark sea with two flavors (up and down) much lighter than a third (strange). The rare kaon decay program at Brookhaven National Laboratory is reviewed. Results from the last round of experiments are brie y discussed. The three experiments currently collecting data are described. Prospects for future experiments are discussed.
General neutrino-scalar couplings appear in many extensions of Standard Model. We can probe these neutrino-scalar couplings by leptonic decay of mesons and from heavy neutrino search. Our analysis improves the present limits to |ge| < 1.9 × 10−6 and |gμ| < 1.9 × 10−7 at 90% C.L. for massless scalars. We make a direct and model-independent measurement of the low π+π− mass phase motion in the D+ → π−π+π+ decay.
