We report the creation of an interacting cold Rydberg gas of strontium atoms. We show that the excitation spectrum of the inner valence electron is sensitive to the interactions in the Rydberg gas, even though they are mediated by the outer Rydberg electron. We propose a new method to describe the interacting bose gas at zero temperature. For three-dimensional system the correction to the groundstate energy in density is reproduced. For two-dimensional dilute bose gas the groundstate energy in the leading order in the parameter | ln α2ρ|−1 where α is a scattering length is obtained.
