The authors demonstrate a smart and versatile approach for preparing multi-spectral conjugated polymers from a commercial precursor MEH-PPV without tedious synthetic modification. Multi-color CPNs with small size have also been successfully prepared using a modified-reprecipitation procedure for live cell imaging.

Nanocrystals of several oligosilanes have been fabricated easily by using a reprecipitation method. The nanocrystals reveal an intense absorption band at the UVB region (280 to 320 nm) and a fluorescence band with large Stokes shift. These photophysical properties show that the nanocrystals exhibit an excitonic interaction of the H-aggregate type.

We report on the evolution of a hollow sphere secondary structure of spherical nanoparticles by a solubilization-reprecipitation mechanism based on the difference of solubility products (K(sp)) of two different precipitates.
