子どもが教科に対して認知する利用価値や興味の変化および分化を検討するために,学習塾に通う小学校4年生から中学校3年生を対象に調査を行った。その結果,実践的利用価値では,英語のみ中学校1年生で高くなるが,他の教科では学年が上がるにつれて低下する傾向がみられた。制度的利用価値では,英語では学年が上がると増加する傾向が,理科と社会では学年が上がると低下する傾向がみられた。興味では数学と英語を除き学年が上がるにつれて低下する傾向がみられた。このように,利用価値の認知や興味の変化は,教科や価値・興味の側面ごとに異なることが示された。また,教科間の相関関係を見ていくと,数学-理科のような距離の近い科目の興味は学年が上がっても,一定の相関係数を維持していた。一方で,数学-国語のような距離の遠い科目の興味は学年が上がるにつれて相関が弱くなり,中学校3年次には相関がみられなくなっていた。このことより,...
