We report on calculations of the hadronic coupling constants gρππ and gNNπ based on lattice QCD with four flavors of dynamical staggered fermions. By computing 2–point and 3–point Green's functions we have been able to determine these coupling constants ab initio from QCD; the results gρππ = 4.2 ± 1.8 and gNNπ = 14.8 ± 6 are compatible with the experimental values. Recent lattice QCD calculatio...

The theory of scale relativity extends Einstein’s principle of relativity to scale transformations of resolutions. It is based on the giving up of the axiom of differentiability of the space-time continuum. Three consequences arise from this withdrawal. (i) The geometry of space-time becomes fractal, i.e., explicitly resolutiondependent : this allows one to describe a non-differentiable physics...

A positive muon (µ +) and an electron (e −) form the the hydrogen-like muonium atom (M =µ + e −). Since it consists of two leptonic particles which are according to present knowledge point-like, accurate calculations of its level energies can be performed in the framework of standard theory. In particular, the theoretical description of this system is possible almost exclusively by Quantum Elec...

In contemporary particle physics, the masses of fundamental particles are incalculable constants, being supplied by experimental values. Inspired by observation of the empirical particle mass spectrum, and their corresponding physical interaction couplings, we propose that the masses of elementary particles arise solely due to the self-interaction of the fields associated with the charges of a ...

A calculation by E.D.Jones of the cosmological mass scale for the phase transition from pre-geometric to physical description as about 5 Tev could be interpreted as a prediction of an effective threshold for novel physical effects in particle-particle collisions. we describe here a suitable approach for the synthesis of n-unsubstituted monocyclic b-lactams under mild reaction conditions by the annelation of imines with substituted acetylchlorides. in this method the reaily available phtalimidoacetyl chloride were allowed to react with - dibenzylideneiminotoluene (hydrobenzamide) in the presence of an equimolar amount of triethylamine in refluxing toluen...

After a very brief review of twentieth century elementary particle physics, prospects for the next century are discussed. First and most important are technological limits of opportunities; next, the future experimental program, and finally the status of the theory, in particular its limitations as well as its opportunities. Invited talk given at the International Conference on Fundamental Scie...

Gauge symmetries: These are local symmetries that act differently at each space-time point x = (t,x) . They create particularly stringent constraints on the structure of a theory. For example, gauge symmetry automatically determines the interaction between particles by introducing bosons that mediate the interaction. All current models of elementary particles incorporate gauge symmetry. (Detail...
